I have a Garmin Forerunner 110. I like it a lot - except that it takes way too bloody long to find satellites sometimes. I seem to recall reading on here that other models don't take nearly as long but can't remember where I read it....can anyone enlighten me? A friend is asking me for Garmin recommendations and that is my one reservation about mine.

I have a 220 and it's instant, only once or twice has it wavered and then for only a minute or so

my old one (FR10) took fucking ages

HOWEVER don't know if it is my computer or just a sweaty contact thing but find the 220 very hit and miss at communicating with the garmin plug in thing and garmin express and garmin connect and that is a bit maddening cos just want to log it quickly usually

Thanks Mitchy. Hmm, food for thought. My 110 is excellent at communicating with the computer, just not so hot at talking to the satellites. It took 400m of the run leg of an aquathlon last night to find them, and that was after I'd already had it search before I set off in the hope it might store in memory or something.

Is yours a wire connect to the computer or wireless? Mine is a wire but I think some are wireless from memory.
