Abs and shred L1 today - knee is a little less creaky, but Achilles is tightening up. Will need to stretch it out a bit more than her cool down!

30DS L2D7. Not good - DS was up and my attention was distracted by him messing about. Hopefully I'll manage to get up before he does tomorrow! Those chair squats with a V-raise aren't getting any easier.

Anyone else had the mad eating frenzy days on Shred or Ripped? Yesterday I simply wanted to stuff myself with salty nuts and crisps all day. It made me realise I need to eat beans/complex carbs with my lunch and dinner and have good snacks on hand before the munchies strike.

Well I'm on a diet, so no mad eating frenzies, lol

I'm having an unplanned rest day today, my dog's not well, sick and lethargic...ended up at the out of hours vet late last night and syringing in rehydration stuff in the early hours of this morning, so I've had about 4 hours sleep and they were on the couch so I could keep an eye on him and he needs to go back in in a couple of hours.

I could do it now, but I feel almost as bad as he does, lol.

RI30 L3D9 done. Finally it felt relatively easy except for the rock and roll crunches which I will never get. Maybe because it's my last level 3 day. L4 tomorrow.

I have mad eating frenzy days from time to time, but haven't noticed an increase since starting the Shred. I tend to get them if I've cycled to work several days in a row.

Sorry about your dog, tabulahrasa. Hope he recovers soon and you can catch up on sleep!

tabulahrasa · 07/06/2014 10:04

I hate missing sleep...I think that's why I prefer my DC being older, lol, but mostly I hope he feels better soon just because he look so miserable.

And it means I'll end up doing Ri30 tomorrow and then everyone's in, it's harder to do then.

No eating frenzy for me. I am on a diet that just isn't working, I have stuck at the same weight for about six weeks now. Measurements are smaller though.

ImogenQuy · 07/06/2014 17:22

Lambzig, wasn't it you on the other thread who said you had 36-inch hips? Unless you're under 5 feet tall, are you sure you need to diet?

Ri30 L1D2 done. Those Hollow Man exercises are weird, I can't work out how to do them at all.

30DSL2D8 done. Not too bad, and I can finally do a full set of the oblique twists without falling over my own feet. I'm so uncoordinated it's beyond a joke.

Ri30 L1D3 done and I'm getting somewhere with the hollow man exercise but it's still too tough so I'm doing leg raises instead to work my lower abs which are puny probably due to having had two c-sections. I think Ri30 level 1 is ideal for getting press ups going as a lot of the exercises target the muscles you need for press ups (shoulders, pecs, triceps, abs) and there is extra arms work which would give nicely defined arms. I ditched the leg exercises on the third strength circuit in favour of using heavier weights so that I can maximise my arm strength with an aim to being able to do proper press ups. If I do the anterior raise with the side lunge I have to use a 1 kg weight but without the lunge I can use a 3 kg weight which is way better seeing as I'm targeting my arms.

Ri30L1D7 - eventually

My dog's in hospital :( he's having an operation to look for a perforation in his intestines.

So of course the vets phoned me twice during Ri30 and now think I'm some sort of weird breathless sobbing person (cos you know, adding crying onto breathlessness helps loads on a phone call) lol.

Ri30 L3 D9 done. I need to sort my eating out. I have become accustomed over the 3babies in quick succession period of eating through the hard times. My main meals are healthy but I am a crisps and nuts monster. It makes me think I need to pre think my snacks and eat before I get that craving need.

Lambzig how is Level 4? Looking forward to hearing your report on it.

Tabulah sorry about your poor old dog. I hope the op sorts him out. X

Complete fail on the exercise yesterday due to extreme hangover. I cannot handle my drink anymore. Today I left home at 5.30 for work, so unlikely I am going to do any today.

Furious I have lost one of my exercise days, but I simply cannot face doing it after I get home and put the kids to bed. Level 4 tomorrow.

Imogen, I am 5ft 3, but its like all the weight is off my hips with a big spare tyre round the waist still. I think we all have a weight that we feel better if we are below and I am 2lbs off mine, but cannot shift that last two pounds. Most annoying.

I am quite good at not snacking at home, but only because I dont buy things to snack on at home except fruit and cooked meat (I know the last is bizarre, but seems to stop my hunger cravings). I find it much harder at work, particularly with the early starts.

ImogenQuy · 09/06/2014 09:23

I snack on cooked meat too! If I have carbs as snacks I just want to keep eating. I also keep unsalted nuts - less moreish than the salted ones and quite filling.

Oddly I'm in the identical position - I'm a couple of pounds over my ideal weight. Mine are on my hips though - I can feel bits of me wobbling when I do plank jacks, which is very off-putting. I suppose I ought to diet a bit.

It's the bagel belly that gets me. Everything looks alright until I plank and then it all flobs down around my belly button. Blush

I can feel my CS overhang flopping up and down when I do the hops at the end of RI30 L3. Most depressing.

Joining to remove my bagel belly! Grin
Day two level one done, I'm aching from yesterday ( shred and a 5 mile run)

I have half a stone or so to loose and several inches. I've shredded before and know it works. I caught sight of myself in a three way mirror and fell repulsed.

Ri30 L2D1 done ... I enjoyed it, except for those crow pushups. I can do squat thrusts now! Grin

Yadah ... how about you try to ditch snacks (esp carby ones like crisps)? Eating for fear of being hungry is almost bound to lead to overeating I'd have thought. Since starting 5:2 I've realisesd that it's ok to be hungry - and certainly not to eat just because its 'elevenses time' or even a 'mealtime' if I'm actually not hungry.
