10k after half marathon?

Did my first half marathon last weekend and loved it - wasn't particularly fast (2:39) but feel great. Am resting this week but fancy doing a 10 k next weekend - 14 days after the half! Have run this race twice before so know the route and it's a great atmosphere - am I pushing my luck doing one so soon? Would like any thoughts from runners with more knowledge of these things..... Thanks

Think back to your half training - you were probably running >10 miles every week or every other week, soou'll be fine, with a 10k after 14 days, and it will be a piece of cake after a half! Enjoy the power finish.

sorry, "you'll be fine"!

Well done! You should be fine. It will be a walk in the park after the hm. Ive done a few hms (not particularly fast) and felt back to normal within a week. Wouldnt want to do another hm so soon but 10k is less than half the distance.

The usual advice is not to race again for the same no of days as miles you have raced. So 14 days is fine! I ran a marathon last weekend and am tempted by a 10k next week but I think that might be pushing it!

you will be fine. I have a 10k after a half in October & another half a few weeks later. I'm not a fast runner neither but I ain't slow neither.

I find training for a 10k & half so different. with the 10 I aim to get my miles in 8:30/9 mins per mile but with a half I slow down a bit so I can go further...but I find it hard slowing cos I just want to go. I did 10 miles yesterday in 1 hour 35 mins YEY!!

If you feel fine go for it.
