That it really!

Now, can someone please give me some tips as to how I can get ready for a 25k walk? Or is it as simple as just keep building up the distance?

I went out this morning and did 3.3k I'm 30 minutes. I was a bit out of puff, but nothing major and nice and pink when I got back. I'm 100kgs and have been for 8 years (so not a bad diet cos there been no gain for years) and haven't done any regular exercise since 2009.

I've downloaded map my walk and my fitness pal.

Any tips will be greatly received. Smile

I'm planning/hoping to sign up to the do the 100k over 24hrs. I'm hoping to jog/walk jog/walk it - I think. But it's not till September.
You'll be fine. It's not a race really so just enjoy it? I would just get your feet and bones used to walking distances and going at a nice pace and break in whatever shoes/socks you plan to use nicely. I think there are some walking sites and I think they give you training plans and organise some pre event walks too. At least you know that at your current pace it's done in less than 12 hrs.

Thanks very much, I did 4.5k this morning in 43 minutes. I'm feeling ok, but hips are a bit achey!
