Sore fall on tailbone (am a runner)

On holiday at the moment and loving fitting in lots of runs in a beautiful location. Slipped today on the rocks at the shore while carrying my son (so could have been so, so much worse) and landed smack on my tailbone without able to use my hands to help me. He was fine, thank god. I was very shocked. Have been in pain since then, am able to sit and walk ok but yelp with pain when moving from standing to sitting. Feels like something is almost ripping.

My ridiculous question is - I can't really run can I? Not even on sand? Would this cause further damage? Just so disappointed to ruin my holiday running. Grrrrr. Anyone had similar and what did you do? TIA.

Ouch :( No, I wouldn't run because of the high impact. Can you get to a GP or walk-in centre where you are?

No don't run.

If you can get checked out, do. You've probably just really bruised yourself but it's possible to fracture your coccyx. If you're unable to get seen, then ice might take the edge off the pain.

Thanks for replies. Makes total sense, I need to be sensible over this. Taking plenty of ibuprofen. Maybe I should get it checked out.

I did the same thing but roller skating.
I didn't bother to get it checked, but it was painful for weeks.

A rubber ring to sit on is good :)
