......where do you put your ipod/iphone/mp3 whilst at the gym or running?

Also how do you stop your earphones from falling out whilst running?

I've got a zip pocket at the back of my capris and running tights but then I find the lead to the earphones gets in the way. If I feed it under my tshirt the movement of t-shirt (and norks??) means the earphones get pulled out eventually.

The other pain with putting my ipod in the back pocket is that its in the wrong place when I go onto the weights machines as you're sitting back against it IYSWIM.

I have an arm band it goes into.

NorbertDentressangle · 06/04/2014 12:51

Where do the wires go Miranda? Do they get in the way ?

I have running earphones which hook around your ear.

I have two iPod nanos, one of the really tiny ones which has a clip and goes onto my waistband, and one slightly bigger one which goes in an arm band.

I put Thr wires up my tshirt, either from my arm or from my waist, and out the neck. You need to adjust it before you start to make sure there is plenty of slack wire where it needs to be.

Thanks Rhonda.

Would an ipod touch be too big or awkward in one of the armbands do you reckon?

i recently got a set of bluetooth headphones so no wires

only downside is i need to use my phone as they arent compatiable with my ipod nano

RhondaJean · 06/04/2014 14:29

I sometimes use my iPhone in an arm band and it bothers me when I run, no so much cycling or weights which aren't arm weights if swim. It's useable but I am aware it is there.

Zatch · 06/04/2014 14:41

I added a pocket to the side of my sports bra under the arm. Doesn't bother during running cycling or weights. Keeps all the cord safely tucked under shirt too and up through neck for headphones. Oh for using my iPhone, bit weird if I get a phone call/msg and its vibrating Grin

Sirzy · 06/04/2014 17:47

I have a wasitband it goes in, the run the wires up the inside of my top.

Hanginggardenofboobylon · 06/04/2014 17:57

I have an iPod classic in an armband and it's fine. I tend to hold the wire when running tbh as it them moves with me IYSWIM on the cross trainer I tuck it in my sports bra. I don't find it annoys me as much as I thought it would. Then armband was only about £6 eBay and it washes fine.

Bluetooth headphones have been a revelation. Can do audio yoga classes without getting all tangled up. Plantronics ones are the best in my view.

fruitpastille · 06/04/2014 18:26

Yurbuds are the only things that don't fall out of my ears.

Earphones - skull candy jib in ear ones are the only ones that don't fall out of my ears when running and aren't sore. The rubber bits come in two sizes.

Re where to put my iPod - in the pocket in the back of my leggings. Cable up the back under t-shirt

Meglet · 06/04/2014 21:26

I have a tiddly ipod Shuffle, it clips onto my waistband. I feed the wires under my t-shirt and up through the neck.

The earphones are just the basic ones that came with it, they've never fallen out. Obviously that means I have perfect ears Wink.

Arion · 06/04/2014 21:33

I use on of my daughter's hair slides (the ones that are curved and click open and closed) and I have the cable under my t shirt, but pull some slack through and clip it at the neckline so it doesn't drop down and pull the earphones from my ears.

NorbertDentressangle · 06/04/2014 21:34

so I must have freaky ears Sad

I use an arm band for my ipod and I use the big skull candy headphones - can't stand the little ones that go in your ears as they fall out all the time.

Suzannewithaplan · 07/04/2014 12:08

Ipod with clip, earphone cables threaded around bra strap, sometimes use hair clips to secure things.

Foam earbuds.

CMOTDibbler · 08/04/2014 09:53

The Yurbuds are amazing - I could never keep even over the ear hook earphones in, but the yurbuds are super comfy and didn't need to be touched over the course of a half marathon. I have a tiny Sansa Clip, and though I usually keep it in the zip pocket of my leggings/capris, it also clips on my waistband or brastrap

Suzannewithaplan · 08/04/2014 10:16

Yurbuds look interesting, will they block out external noise so I don't have to listen to the gym music and chit chat going on around me?

postmanpatscat · 08/04/2014 12:20

I have a little waistbelt from Sports Direct, big enough for ipod and tissue (my nose always runs when I do!) Headphones usually inside my top, I always buy Sennheiser ones with an asymmetric cable so they go behind my head.

Belindaearl2 · 08/04/2014 20:58

I have a cheapo waistbelt from H&M and it's fine. Agree the Yurbuds are great linky
