Bloating after running?

I've just started running. I absolutely love it, however I've noticed my stomach has a tendency to bloat (to the point of pain; this isn't a vanity thing) after a run. A quick google suggests this isn't anything out of the ordinary but does anyone else experience this?

Digestive issues are not uncommon when running.

My issues are normally bowel related, not had bloating I must admit. I tend to get cramping and a desperate need to get to the loo very quickly! Makes for a speedy end to a runGrin

Keep a diary of what you eat before a run and see if you can see a pattern. I either eat nothing or stick to toast, anything else sets my bowels off!

I can't do caffeine before running either, that can play havoc with your system too.

It's a bit trial and error to see what your body reacts badly too.

I burp loads when I'm running and the further I go, the more I burp. I let a massive one out today not realising I was about to be overtaken by another runner Blush

I try not to eat or drink anything apart from water 2 hrs before I run, that seems to help a bit.

I fart quite a lot when I run and have to take my headphones out to make sure no one else hears

Running does wonders for your digestive system.

I can use the loo several times before I set off and still need to go again when I get 5 minutes down the roadHmm

Many a run has been planned for a nice Downland route only to have to divert to civilisation for the toilets!

I daren't fart when running in case it's more than a fart
