Can anyone point me in the right direction of a plan please?

How long have you got to train for it? Most beginner plans I've seen are based on people already running, but the plans are usually about 16 weeks. If you're starting from scratch you could do a couch to 10k and then graduate onto a beginner's marathon plan.

I googled a bit more and see I am best to start with couch to 5 k and build up. Marathon is late November. Thanks.

November is plenty of time. I would start with C25k then work up to 10k then half marathon.

EauRouge How's your training going? It's just over 6 weeks and I am nervous. use to be AngryBuddha.

Hi Merrybuddha, glad to hear you're not angry any more Grin

My training is going quite well, did 10 miles at the weekend in 1hr 45 which I was quite pleased with. How about you?

Thanks. it is the Athens marathon! Still considering but have to decide by the weekend exactly what I am going to do.

Athens!! that would be amazing.

EauRouge I was plagued with illness through November/December so have only just got back into it!! The aim is just to finish it this time!! I am up to 6 miles at the moment and just adding a mile every week on my long run.

1 hr 45 minutes that's amazing! Sounds like your training is paying off.
