HELP! Thighs in agony!

Tried Metafit for the first time last night. It's safe to say I'm absolutely b@ggered, especially my thighs. Can't walk without pain, standing and sitting is agony! Can you offer any suggestions on how to help this and speed up recovery? Usually do a body combat class on a Thursday evening, so want to be fit for it. Thanks.

Grin My thighs are regularly like that after circuits! Hot baths and keep on movingSmile

My dh would tell you it's DOMS (delayed oneset muscle soreness). Is a sign you're doing some good, though may not feel like it right now. You may find you'll be alright doing type of exercise, to what caused your soreness, that uses different muscles.

Thanks Tilly, will try a hot bath tonight. I've never hurt this much before, it's awful!!

I have this after Mondays bootcamp! Bloody squats are responsible I think

Painkillers!

bigTillyMint · 08/01/2014 15:27

Yes, it's usually the squats for me too! We had to do some of those sitting against a wall with a 5kg kettleball on our laps last night though, which are what finished me off!

Yep, squats, burpees, more squats..... Killer.

Oh yes, the lovely burpees. With weights!

For DOMS I find cross trainer or spin bike for 20minutes cures it or at least lessens the pain.

You need a foam roller.

gindrinker · 08/01/2014 21:14

You just have to brave it.
Ive been hobbling around the office after body camp and a circuits class.
It'll be ok by Thurs... Or it had better be I'm having a rest day today.

Keep stretching your thighs at every opportunity to help getting rid of any lactic acid build up, and keep taking on fluids.

Thanks everyone, had a hot bath and slathered on some diclofenac gel, no relief yet. Hopefully tomorrow will be easier. pumpkin I can hardly walk! I think any more exercise today would finish me off! Grin
