Did any of you that have done this lose weight?

I did a run/walk programme in June, with a sensible diet, running 3 times a week. I've lost 4 stone in total (and kept it off over Xmas despite indulging and not running for 2 weeks).

Not really, but I wasn't overweight when I started. I did drop a dress size but haven't lost any weight.

I read somewhere that weightloss is 80% diet, 20% exercise but I don't know the source of this rule so not sure how accurate it is.

Running 5k (depending on your weight etc) only burns about 300-350 calories.

No but that wasn't my aim and I'm already fairly light to begin with so there's not much to lose.

At 4 stone overweight I would burn nearly 700 calories for a half hour run. Now at a healthy weight I burn around 400 depending on speed

I do run with ds2 in the buggy a lot which adds resistance. But. 3 runs a week will give you a 1000 calorie deficit without changing your eating (as long as you aren't currently overeating). I did 5:2 fir a while and the only advice I have really is if you run on fast days do it first thing in the morning.
