Best shoes for cross training type exercise?

I do Jillian Michaels DVDs at home for my exercise. I've been wearing my running shoes for that, but I fancy doing a bit of running again, so I'd rather save my runners for outdoors and get some new shoes for exercising indoors.

What sort of trainers are best for the sort of exercises I'm doing- weights, lunges, squats etc along with things like jumping jacks, high knees etc? My Asics runners are pretty comfy, and I tend to fit Nikes well but never Adidas. They'll only be worn in the house so I'm not fussy on colour etc.

I did Insanity in split sole dance trainers but this might be why it hurt my knees

I'm using an old pair of Asics running shoes too for JM (got new ones for outdoors when I finally realised how badly I overpronated) - so curious if you get any recommendations.

Just went on to the Sports Direct website and they have USA Pro gym trainers around the £15-£20 price. Might go and have a look at them in the shop soon. I've been pleased with their workout clothes so they might be ok. Otherwise they have some basic reebok or puma ones around £25 in the sale.

I use Karrimor trainers - they are the only ones which seem to weight bear properly. I think in Sports Direct you can get tested for whether you have a high or low instep, which makes a difference.
