Hello, I'm looking for some tips - what do I need to know about running on sand? Can I use my usual trainers or will they forever be full of sand after my holiday? Is it best to run on the damp sand or is the trickiness of dry, squashy sand a better bet for extra fitness?

I did this on holiday and went barefoot....on the wetter parts first, then drier on way back.it was amazing, effortless and I felt i could run forever.

Barefoot sounds very appealing :)

Go barefoot on wet sand. Splash a bit in water, too. It's brilliant Smile

Try to land mid-foot rather than on toes (as happens on sand) lest you walk in agony the next day.

I'm definitely going to do this :) Can't wait!
