Garmin Forerunner

I have one of these with a heart rate monitor. Trouble is, despite reading the instructions and looking at the ones on the garmin site I really can't work out how the heck to use it!

Does anyone have one? I'm flumoxed! I cannot figure it out! I know - I'm obviously pretty dense!

If it is then you can get your heart rate by pressing the page/menu button,once you are running.Hope that helps:-)

Pleaseput, I have the 210 with HR monitor, can you be more specific, what is it you cant do?
Have you been able to switch it on and set it up?

Yep done that bit I think. I wanted to try and programme in distance I want to run and pace I want to run including how long for warm up before run and then the cool down post distance. Also to set up interval alerts for interval runs. The HR bit I'm completely clueless on. And I'm not sure what bit of the screen is telling me what! Complete numpty on this thing. But I feel like I should use it as I've been kindly given one to use. Can you only programme all this in once you've already located satellites etc? Sorry it's a completely new world to me! My running apps seemed a lot simpler but I hate running with the weight of the phone and find it difficult to see the screen or fumble with it when I'm running and figure if I can get the hang of the watch it would make things easier? Or not.... I am SO thick as googling instructions seems to bring up nothing but the basic set up bit on Garmin website - clearly I'm the only eedjit that finds it tricky!

Mostly what I wanted it to do is to tell me my pace so that if I'm aiming for say a 9 min mile I can see if I'm running too fast/too slow etc. I thought it had a virtual running partner but I don't think it does.

the pace should be displayed on the screen when you are running, it should pick up the heart rate monitor and display a little heart, you can press the menu button to display the heart rate...really I doubt I can explain it better than the online manual.

Have you tried looking on youtube? there are bound to be some video tutorials:)
