I can't believe I managed to do it! I am very unfit and about 3 stone overweight. But I did it Grin

Just wanted to share with someone as I'm very proud of myself at the moment Blush

Wibbly, honestly the stretching feels great too. It's a relief!

eminemmerdale · 23/04/2013 17:10

Motivate me everyone!! I feel so tired. I can't go yet, but remind me I must..

wibblyjelly · 23/04/2013 17:39

Come on Eminem, you can do it. You'll feel so great afterwards Grin

FoundAChopinLizt · 23/04/2013 17:43

Go for it Em. Think of a reward for after?

Theyoniwayisnorthwards · 23/04/2013 17:43

I felt like that yesterday, 5 minutes in you're fine. And smug.

FoundAChopinLizt · 23/04/2013 17:44

I've got a migraine aura with blurry vision. No headache yet, though. I thought this running lark was going to cure all ills.

eminemmerdale · 23/04/2013 18:04

I shall be going when dh gets back from the gym - and afterwards i will have a lovely bath and some hot chocolate - thank you!

HunterWellies · 23/04/2013 18:42

Oh Chopin that sounds narsty... And unfair, as you say. We runners should be the picture of health!

Hot chocolate and bath sounds bliss, Em. Enjoy your run :)

And new - hurrah! 20 minutes done! Well done you. I'm doing w6r2 on Thursday now as dh is away tomorrow. Sadly that means I will have to do r3 on Saturday morning and we are having A Big Night Out on Friday... Oh dear...

eminemmerdale · 23/04/2013 20:23

Done it! there was a group of 'bootcamp' types in the par being all fast and furious but i toddled along nicely Grin My knees are a bit creaky- will have to watch out for that - BATH TIME!

wibblyjelly · 23/04/2013 21:15

Well done Eiemen!

wibblyjelly · 23/04/2013 21:16

Eminem even Blush

FraterculaArctica · 23/04/2013 21:21

Can I join? I've started again (for about the 4th time...) - did week 2 run 1 tonight. Only did 1x week 1, I've done this often enough on and off that I felt I could step up a level sooner.

Next run on Thursday - please keep prodding me!

FoundAChopinLizt · 23/04/2013 21:45

I'm fine now, just back from DDs 10k, she got two prizes in the women's race at grand old age of 14! Was even head hunted by another running club. I was quite tearful..peri menopausal I reckon.

sparkle12mar08 · 24/04/2013 07:53

I'm off out after the school run for w3 d2 - hoping the app holds out better this time so I can see what it feels like without faffing and an extra rep. I've been pleasantly surprised at how well I seem to take it and how decent my pace is at this stage, and believe you me I'm not giving it everything - I'm a lazy exerciser, me! I imagine that as the length picks up the pace will slow naturally - any week 6 & 7's care to comment?! Still no joy on sports bras btw.

EauRouge · 24/04/2013 09:05

Sparkle, I would just go at a pace that's comfortable to you once you start doing the longer runs. There's no need to go slower if you can do the whole lot at a faster pace. If you can do the runs in W7 at a certain pace then you should be able to do 5k at that pace. I did find that I was going too fast in the intervals in the early weeks but I got the hang of pacing myself quite quickly.

And don't worry if you don't manage 5k in 30 mins at the end of the programme, I still can't do it.

sparkle12mar08 · 24/04/2013 10:01

Well I did it, feels pretty good now, but that second three minutes does feel longer. Average pace during run sections seems to be 10m 30s per mile, so nearly spot on for 5k in 30 mins, but it's only 3 min max sections at present so I'm interested to see if it's that buoyant on the longer sections in later weeks. I doubt it. Really want my new trainers to arrive soon, am getting v impatient now!

eminemmerdale · 24/04/2013 10:30

My knees are a bit sore - and I feel a bit blergh! Howvere, still determined Smile

sparkle12mar08 · 24/04/2013 10:34

Typical! New trainers arrived in todays post about an hour after I got back from my run lol. Am almost tempted to go out again in them... I won't but I can't wait till Friday now!

wibblyjelly · 24/04/2013 11:23

DH is working late tonight, hope that I can go out for a run tonight, but it depends what time he gets back. I really don't want to leave 2 days between runs, but if I have to, will it affect me badly at all?

FoundAChopinLizt · 24/04/2013 11:26

Wibbly I'm having a two day gap once a week, because my running class in on Thursday, I would end up with three runs in a row otherwise. I ran yesterday after two day gap, and legs felt good. Think you'll be fine.

Btw my autocorrect wants to call you 'wobbly' every time!

wibblyjelly · 24/04/2013 11:33

Your autocorrect must know me! Grin

eminemmerdale · 24/04/2013 12:14

I'm doing Sun, Tues and Fri at the moment, but may do a quick one tomorrow. Difficult to work it out isn't it? What do you experienced lot think??

FoundAChopinLizt · 24/04/2013 12:16

We need an even number of days in the week. It's never going to work with seven.Smile

HunterWellies · 24/04/2013 12:51

I have a two day gap every week - usually sat/sun but tues/weds this week while dh is away tonight. I'm on week 6 and it hasn't caused any bother so far...

You sort of have to at some point don't you? Or you would end up covering the program in a shorter time span as its only three runs a week.

wibblyjelly · 24/04/2013 13:17

So, I actually deserve 2 nights off in a row then....
