Great North Run - anyone else heard today?

I have got a place

Very excited, especially as I have had to pull out of the Brighton Marathon due to a horrible, chesty lurgy thing all over Christmas/New Year that resulted in 7 weeks missed training.

Ooh well done. I looked into it, but didn't have the £49 at the time. Plus Ive not been running that much over winter. Definately going to have a go next year though. Going to be spending this year doing more 10K's and maybe a 10 miler towards the end of the year.

Well done feet heart. It was me who posted a link to the daily mirror ballot. Glad it was useful if,that was the one you. If you are not local you may want to think about booking accommodation early as all the hotels get booked up really quickly. Good luck with the training!

Also thanks for the heads up about accomodation. I'm definitely not local though do have friends who at least live 'up North'! Will get in touch to see exactly how close they will be (they are moving in June) and what plans they have for mid-September!

I'm being a bit of a fair weather runner at the moment but looking forward to getting out again - running in sleet does not appeal and I'll fall flat on my face if I go on a treadmill. Roll on the clear, bright winter days again.
