I want to keep up my running over winter but need some warmer gear, does anyone have any suggestions for winter running jackets, gloves etc preferably not too expensive but breathable.

I get most of my stuff from Wiggle.com. I've Gore Running gloves which are really good and a hat of the same make.

Other than that I wear long tights and a long running high vis t-shirt, sometimes 2 layered up. I avoid jackets as I find I get too warm and don't like having to carry stuff around with me.

I do find as long as my extremities are warm I can cope. I also have a buff which I wear around my neck on the handful of days it really is freezing.

Overall I think thin layers are the key because you can shed them when you get warm.

Thank you- I wasn't sure whether to get a jacket or not. I like the idea of a buff.

Got my sister a discounted fluorescent yellow running top from Sports Direct online which claims to be breathable.

I'm more of a cyclist, but avoid jackets unless it's actually raining hard enough for me to get wet quicker from the outside in than the inside out (if you see what I mean) - even with a jacket that claims it's breathable.
