C25K transition to 10k

I am about to complete W6 of C25k but ages ago I foolishly signed up to do a 10k run in November. I am using the 5k runner app which I have found really good. But I'm wondering whether anyone had any advice regarding the jump to 10k.

Also is it worth me buying the 10k runner app - will the first 5k be the same or will there already have been an increase in time/distance in the 8 weeks I have been doing C25K?

I have about 6 weeks till the run - is that achievable or am I kidding myself?!

I did the bluefin couch to 5k app for iphone and then followed it up with their bridge to 10k app. I think you'd be fine- it's all experience and you don't have to run it all, you can always walk some. The bridge one starts on the presumption you can run 5km fairly comfortably. Good luck (I'm now on their half marathon one)

Thanks. I will look for that one.

Good luck for your half-marathon training too - have you signed up for one?

Yes!!! Im doing the great north run in 3 weeks (well it will be the great north jog for me I'm not that fast Wink. I feel I've come a long way though considering I had never run in my life before Jan 2011.
