5X5 and break days

I have been doing 5x5 weights, well sort of as I can really only lift 40lbs! I did it yesterday so today I'm not meant to do weights but I was wondering if it would be ok to do some tricep extensions with a 9lb weight so not that heavy as I really want my underarms to start looking as nice as my biceps! but should I do all weight on the same day leave the break in between?
