Fed up of swimming, give me cheap/free fitness ideas that people with shot knees can do please?

Basically what the title says, I have shit knees, can't afford a gym membership and don't like weights anyway. I am trying to swim once a week (taking this week off thanks to it being period week and unable to find tampons that don't irritate, which is a whole other issue!) though usually more, I walk a lot up and down hills too but want more things I can do.

I can't jog/run or cycle at all due to my knees or walk much more than I do, I am starting yoga classes at the end of the month which I intend to do once or twice a week at home as well as my class, alongside swimming twice a week. I also hula hoop or do poi when the weather is good (no space inside to do it) and want to climb but need a partner so will do that one day.

Anyone got any other ideas for a bit of variety? Even completely random things that one may never have heard of! Swimming is the only thing I'm getting to do at the moment and I'm bored!

got anywhere near you that you can hire kayaks? any rivers, lakes,

if it's a sit on top, make sure you get one with proper knee straps,

I've got dodgy knees, but I spend a lot of time out on the water kayaking, brilliant fun.

Thanks for the idea :) Funnily enough I'm actually a paddlesports instructor but haven't been able to find a decent club near me on a free evening so do kayak still on a rare occasion, but unfortunately it's not something I'll be able to do routinely :( At least until I free up the one evening a week that the only good club meets on! Grin

I know that renting kayaks or canoes is an option but weirdly enough there are only really two places nearby that offer that service, and they're both in difficult places for me to get to.
