Odd question about golf

Is there any reason to do with golf that means someone would need to keep a bottle opener in their golf bag? I found 2 in dh's bag earlier when I put some balls back in a pocket.

They are allowed to take a drink round with them (but think it isn't meant to be in a bottle) but he often plays golf at 9 am on Sundays.

Is there any explanation that anyone can think of?

as a fellow husband/golf sufferer, I think this could possibly be a thing they use to take the spikes of their golf shoes off.
however if I had to suffer playing golf I think I'd need to take a bottle opener with me !!
