In 1hr & 11 mins!
I'm over the moon!
There were times where I thought 'there's no way I can do this' but I did.
Sooo chuffed :)

Thinking of booking in my next 10k race for the Race for Life in August.

Well done guys - I'm working towards 10k - so far 6.5k in 36 min.

Blue - You'll do great with a pace like that!

CurrySpice · 08/07/2012 18:57

Very very well done to you all. Running 10k is an achievement! Grin

OTheHugeManatee · 10/07/2012 13:02

Woohoo! I ran the Great British 10K too rococo - 1:04:09. It was my first 10K as well. I did the C25K last autumn, inspired by MN, and feel amazingly proud of having done it. Well done us! Grin

rococopops · 10/07/2012 18:13

Well done to us indeed!

OThe I have nothing to compare it to but what did you think of the Great British 10K? I nearly got tripped up twice and apparently some people didn't even get a medal. I loved the route and experience of it all but for my next race maybe something better organised not sure what though? Defonup for another challenge :)

solittletimeandsomuchtodo · 10/07/2012 18:18

Woohoo
I did great british 10pm on Sunday too!
And I ran 1 hour 4 min too!!!
(not sure of exact seconds)

OTheHugeManatee · 11/07/2012 11:03

solittle Well done you! Grin

rococo I had a fantastic time at the Great British 10K. It's the first race I've ever done, the first time I've ever run the full 10K and it was the most enormous buzz, I'm still going Grin at the memory.

I was warned though by two friends who've run it a few times to get there as early as possible because it's so crowded. So I was out of the gate only about 60 seconds after the gun, and after the slightly weird experience of being overtaken by thousands of people for the first couple of km it was fine.

Friend and I are looking for another race maybe in the autumn. hough I'm getting married and moving house in the next 3 months so I'm a bit wary of signing up for anything too hardcore till that's done Confused

There's a good thread about upcoming 10ks and half marathons here on the Runners World forums though.

Mintyy · 11/07/2012 11:06

I really admire you all! How long did it take to work up to a 10k and how old are you (if you don't mind me asking)?

balotelli · 11/07/2012 19:51

Wooooo Hoooooo Butterfly.

You did it.

AWESOME!!!

(i used to be Kunahero btw)

It is very addictive. I started doing 10ks 2 years ago, 59 mins for the first one. Now done about 6 and last one was 44.54.
Now looking to Bridlington Half Marathon next year just before my 50th birthday.

Keep going, you are doing really well.

Proud of you.

Thanks
