London Marathon 2013 - Ballot

Has anyone entered the London Marathon Ballot for next year? Can you help me please?

I have a couple of questions:

  1. Have you received any email confirmation of your application? (I know we won't know if we're successful until October). I have received an application number during the online application, but no email confirmation.

  2. Did you have to pay for entry when you completed the online application? I wasn't asked to do this, yet still have been given an application number???

I'm very Confused , although to be fair it doesn't take much!

I've entered and have had an e-mail. Have you checked your spam box? Alternatively if you made a note of your application number, you could call them. I'd maybe leave a bit more time to see if something comes through. You don't have to pay until you know you've got a place, rather than an entry into the ballot.

I got my confirmation email within minutes of entering, but I know that the organisers said that due to the volume of entries, there might be a delay in sending these out, but I would have thought you should have had it by now.

If you bequeathed your entry fee when you completed the application form, they still won't take the money until the ballot results are sent out in October. Some people think that ticking the bequeath box makes some difference to your chances of success in the ballot. It doesn't - all it means is that you get an over-sized fleece or rain-jacket along with your rejection magazine Grin. I now have two rain-jackets and four fleeces....
