Recommendations for 5k to 10k running programmes?

I'm very proudly about to graduate from C25k, and am looking forward to upping my distances and length of time running. I really enjoyed the format of the podcasts of the nhs choices c25k, especially the gentle encouragement.

Can anyone recommend anything similar to take me up to 10k? I have registered for The Major in October, do I've got a way to go.

Podrunner intervals- if you have a smart fone. Check it out- its got me up to ten k with ease!

I used to use rundouble but I didn't like the 10k programme that they switched to so I now use endomondo with a 10k programme from a runners world book.

Endomondo is fab for being able to set any programme you like based on time, distance, intervals etc. It also allows you to be tracked if you want which means I can sod off into the hills without planning a route and DH can figure out where I am and know what time he should be cooking tea for!

I am envious of you doing the major. I did the minor in march and it was the best fun. Infact it was so much fun that DH and one of my friends have started running to do the minor in October, leaving me with the kids! I'm looking at doing the wolf run to get my fix of mud and water. Which major are you doing? We'll be at the midlands one.

Hi golemmings, I've been wondering about tracking facilities on the running apps. I'll look into it. I'm onto week 3 of the rundouble 5k to 10k program, I'm loving it. Once I'm up to 1hour running I'll probably swap to using endmondo or runkeeper.

I'll be doing the North major, the one near Leeds.

Enjoy your running!
