what shall i wear if its raining? i don't really want to have to wear my rain jacket (although have trained in it quite a lot). I wanted to just wear shorts and vest but am worried il get cold if i have to walk any towards the end. but don't want to end up running most of the race with it tied around my waist if it stops raining or i get too hot

any tips?

Hi everyone i survived to tell the tale!!

it was very hard but a brilliant day and brilliant atmosphere. all the hundreds of thousands of people who come to watch and cheer are what made the day it was amazing.
my knee held out and is not actually that bad at the moment as everything else is aching so much. Im sure it will make up for that tomorrow!

i have 2 toe nails (the one next to the big toe on each foot) that look like im going to loose them - one is no longer attached to anything other than i tiny bit of skin, and the other is very painful and red and slightly lifted from its bed. nice!

my time was a respectable 4 hours and 49mins which im very proud of Grin

Well done juicy! DD's hip went at 19 miles but she finished. She did it 5 hours 40 and I am very proud of her.

Well done juicychops!!!

I am full of admiration for anybody that even attempts the marathon and it sounds like you did it in a good time. Soak those feet, have a drink and a good rest.

I hope you are not aching too much tomorrow Smile

juicychops · 22/04/2012 20:40

hellhasnofury, she did brilliant. there were so many people injured all the way around on the road sides she's done incredibly well to get to the finish with an injury like that. i bet apart from the pain she feels great!

Hurrah juicy, huge well done to you. And to hellhasnofury's DD!

You are amazing!

PinkChampagneandStrawberries · 22/04/2012 22:15

Well done juicy and hellhasnofurys DD Grin

Well done juicychops and hellhasnofurys dd, you must both be very proud.

I lost toenails after my marathon juicychops, took an age to grow back but I wore my dodgy looking toes with prideGrin

Rest easy today, expect to feel very stiff. Just revel in the post marathon glory. You have achieved something most people will never do!

Hey wll done!!!

What a fantastic thing to have taken part in. I was watching on tv - and it looked to be a great atmosphere. That alone must help when it gets hard going.

Rest up today - and admire your medals!!
