I love the c25k podcasts. Makes me make the most out of running and stops me from slacking off. Any chance of there being something similar for weight training?

Btw - Videos won't work as I go to the gym. And I can't get to any of the classes my gym offers. I'm looking at getting a personal trainer but can only afford once a fortnight or so.

I'm not aware of a similar thing for weight training...I guess the range of possible exercises and goals for weight training are so diverse that it would be difficult to provide a one size fits all approach as with running.

Having said that, there are programmes you could follow, although none I know in podcast format. If you can afford a PT though, even once a fortnight, that should be fantastic for designing an appropriate weights programme for you and what you want to achieve. They can then ensure your technique is correct and thereafter monitor your progress, adjusting programme accordingly and providing ad hoc advice when needed. You will probably find that having the prospect of him/her seeing your progress every so often is a great incentive to work hard Grin.

Good luck. Weight training is fantastic and should give you amazing results, especially if combined with regular runs. Come and visit the weights/kettlebell/TRX thread and tell us how you get on!Smile
