Stress fracture?

If you've had a stress fracture in your foot could you weight-bear?

DD has just been told she has a stress fracture in her foot but can walk normally and even stand on the foot that is injured but she has a very tender spot on the underneath of the arch of her foot. One physio thinks it's a stress fracture but a different physio is saying it's an injury that is much less serious (DD is entered in the London marathon in 4 weeks so a stress fracture is bad news for her) injury similar to carpal tunnel and that it is curable in the time frame. We have until April 1st to defer her marathon place so would love to hear other people's experiences of a stress fracture.

I fractured my foot and ankle in 3 places and I could weight bear. I walked on it for a week before I realised the pain wasn't going away and went to a&e Blush

You can weightbear on a stress fracture. Often it will only hurt whilst or after running and normal daily activities won't irritate it. Has she had a scan or an x-ray? If not I suggest she gets one pronto as running marathon distance on a stress fracture is lunacy.
