Exercise bike - recommend me one please

Dh wants an exercise bike which I am thinking of getting for his bday.

Don't like the idea of it taking up loads of space so a compact one (if they exist) would be great.

Any suggestions?

Does he ride outside on a normal bike too? If so a turbo trainer or rollers (I wouldn't get these without asking though - it's a skill!) would be a lot more compact and out of the way when not in use.

No he doesn't. He runs but wants something indoors for intense cardio workout.

I've just ordered a Nordick Track one, but it's not exactly compact - has to be plugged into the mains socket for power. Very comfy seat though, which you'll get to appreciate if you spend any length of time on it!

almost ordered a NT but ended up getting a DKN AM3 - the children love it
