New trainers before Half Marathon...?

Hi all
I'm doing my first half marathon in just under 4 weeks, and I'm starting to feel that my current trainers are past their best. Is it too late to get some new ones? I can feel old knee pains reappearing for the first time since before I got these ones, but I don't want to be limping round in painful new shoes...
Thanks...

If they're painful for that long then I think you perhaps have the wrong shoe, I would have no worries about getting a new version of my training or race shoes in that time period, you've presumably got a dozen or more runs before then. The sooner the better.

I went to a shop that had a treadmill that recorded the way you ran and showed me what support in a shoe I should have. I bought the shoe they recommended 7 years ago and just buy the same shoe every 6 months or so and I have never had a problem. When you get a new shoe it makes you realise how awful your old ones are the cushioning is new and bouncy definately treat yourself before the race.

Thanks both - my current trainers have been great, and they were properly fitted with extra heel supports etc, but I have had them for WAY too long. Silly me hadn't even thought that I could just get another pair of the same trainers, which then wouldn't even hurt! That's it, I have resolved to get some new ones tomorrow.
Thanks again
