Hello, I've made it my mission to start running. I'm not unfit, I go to Curves - usually 3-4 times a week but I want to do a 10k in March. I've got a smart phone on the android market which I'd like to use to build up my running times. What do you runners recommend?

If you're looking for a structured programme, I really like rundouble. It includes c25k, bridge210k and a half marathon programme. It works with your own music player, although I think you can create playlists within it; it maps runs, gives you an average speed and records your fastest interval.

As a complete novice half way through the c25k programme, I love it. I have no idea how it works for more experienced runners though.

Well my friend is trying to persuade me to do the Great North Run in Septembwr Shock so I signed up for a 10k first! I'm definitely looking for a structured programme so I'll have a look at that thanks.
Now off to check out the music for running thread!
