A Christmas question for runners please

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/12/2011 16:30

Dp is a keen runner and I want to do him a 'Runner's Hamper' for one of his Christmas presents. And ideas for what else I could put in it please (nothing too expensive)? So far I've got -

socks
gloves
Energy bar things from the running shop
A water bottle
A magazine

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

A pair of lock lace things which mean you don't have to tie your laces again.

I think they are actually called Lock Laces, they sell them on Wiggle for £5, they're great.

Hat.
High viz led lights or reflective snap on strips if he runs in the dark.
Head torch...as above.
Deep HeatWink

Maybe I should show dh this thread, what a lovely ideaGrin

Running hat for winter

Arm band pouch for iPod

Voucher to download music to run to

Deeep Heat = genius!
He doesn't have an i-pod or listen to music when he runs. Will deffo get some reflector thingies.
What is a running hat - how does it differ from his usual nasty fleece hat?

Thank you so much for these.

You can get lightweight running hats, or even a headband, they're less sweaty than normal hats and easier to tuck into your waistband or bumbag once you get hot.

Thank you. :)

Hi viz vest? I have a meshy one that has reflective bits and useful for putting over whatever you are wearing to run in.

Lightweight running top? You can never have enough tops....

A buff....nice neck warming stretchy thing.
Voucher for a sports massage.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/12/2011 17:32

Thank you both. He has a high viz vest and far more running tops than I think he needs! Voucher for a massage is a brilliant idea but probably too expensive. Have never heard of a buff but will google immediately!

do you have a "sports Direct" shop near by? they have masses of really great bargains.

I second the lock laces. How about recovery drink mix? Cap for summer running? sunglasses? I was given a pair of armwarmers from my husband (he bought them for himself but they were not long enough) and they are great for running where you start off a bit chilly-I take them off if I get too warm on a run and tie them around my water bottle. this type
A running hamper - A lovely idea!
