sticky tin tin with tits hey?! Every young boys fantasy.... Wink I'm Zone F - Anneka Rice Treasure Hunt outfit on with fanny pack and hair will be kirby gripped to within an inch of it's life. Not had time to construct a large Fanny for my head but I think I will stand out as you will smell my arse at least 3 miles down the road. My mum concerned for all the poor folk running behind me. GrinBlush

rhetorician · 16/09/2011 21:17

sticky - it looks more of less flat too, although I am only aiming to get round. I'm not really a fan of runs that aren't at least in parts scenic - that's a lot of the point for me.

I predict sub 2 hours for you - I think you will run brilliantly on the day

oh, and in terms of mahoosive starts, I'm afraid that the Dublin Women's mini-marathon (actually a 10k) has you beat - 25, 000 (some of them smoking fags on the start line, admittedly :o). Which is why I haven't done it since my pb (56:16, get me!)...

I think we stayed in Durham the night before the GNR. We left early and made the starts of the race with oooooodddles of time.

Mind you my DH is the sort of person, when faced with a 9am flight from Heathrow will be standing at the door ready to go at 2am.

Funily enough, I'd had the "ha ha wouldn't it be funny if we saw each other" conversation with some friends in our village who were also running it and guess what.....we saw them!

Just saw an ad on telly for it and came over all adrenaliney.

rhetorician · 16/09/2011 21:40

alt + e is what you want for a Slí na Sláinte (well on a mac, anyway!).

Dp's birthday next week - might have to do the salted caramel chocolate cake...and something nice for a main course that's veggie (as she is the star of the show!). Was thinking delicious pies - any ideas?

OP posts:
stickylittlefingers · 16/09/2011 21:40

get you indeed rhet!. I don't think you'll make much money on sub 2hrs for me. If I get sub 2:15 I'll be bloody extremely very happy...

I remember watching the Dublin women's mini marathon go past DP's flat (a good introduction to life in Ireland Grin). Them weren't all womens tho...

Fanny I will keep a nose out for you...

ibbydibby · 16/09/2011 21:44

Rhet do you get the Great British Bake Off (BBC)? They "did" pies this week and there was a delicious looking potato, caramelised onion and stilton one....though maybe that followed by the cake would be a bit heavvvvy...

rhetorician · 16/09/2011 21:46

ibby yes, am addicted to it...saw that one, yes, and DP made enthusiastic noises...a nice pie, lots of delish salads, choc cake?

Oops just posted on old thread ..... Doh!

Best of luck to all the racers this weekend.

rhetorician · 16/09/2011 21:47

ha ha, will have to buy in some extra gaviscon for her (she'll be 30 weeks) with a menu like that!!

Fannypacks, arse smells, tin tin with tits. We should definitely win the prize for classiest thread!

Wheely, playgroup fine today. Left after 15 mins with screaming DD being prised from my leg but am pretty sure she had stopped crying by the time I got out the front. When I went back I could hear her screaming cos she didn't want to take the book bag they wanted to give her (god knows why). Once I put it out of sight she was fine. The playgroup leader said she been fine. She said "She likes to say no a lot and she likes to tell people off a lot, but in between she had a great time". DD alluded to the fact she had been a bit naughty later on but she said she had had a lovely time, so that's good.

sfx, glad your DD is getting on better. Am sure I've told you this a thousand times but once more for luck, I used to change Biffy Clyro's nappies! Well James and Ben, the twins from BC as they were my friend's wee cousins when we were growing up. Have pictures of us all on the Mull of Kintyre on holiday. They've done brilliantly!

All this chat of GNR is soooo exciting! Makes me want to lace up my shoes and head to Nooooocastle. Fanny, there'll be tons of folk on their own and it's supposed to be dead friendly.

Off to Bristol tomorrow so may not have time to post, so have an awesome time all you GNRers!!!!!! Can't wait for the race reports, and attendant tales of car parking woes. Fanny, you don't need a hat, you will be obvious in the tv coverage for the massive space around your arse you Smile

peachsmuggler · 16/09/2011 21:55

Oh yeah, cannae stand Holly, but that veggie pie looked amazing. Please feel free to try it out and Rhet, and give us your review. Your DP is a lucky lady!!!

backwardpossom · 16/09/2011 21:58

What time is the Great British Bake Off on and what day? I saw the first one and haven't seen any since! Hmm

rhetorician · 16/09/2011 22:00

wednesday, I think; 8pm?

OP posts:
ibbydibby · 16/09/2011 22:02

Rhet can we all come round and join you for DP's birthday - sounds like a tasty feast. GBBO is Tuesdays (I think) 8pm. DS1 and I just drooled at those pies...

bonkers20 · 16/09/2011 22:03

My knee then.
Well, it's nowt but a scabby mess now, but goodness I am making a fuss. Even DH (who didn't wish me all the best when I had an amnio, or when I lumbered off to give birth with my sister as birth partner) is asking how it is.

It's so painful to put any pressure on it though and I'm still struggling with sorting the 2yo out.

DH might be bunking off work tomorrow so I might take advantage of this and go for a long run in prep. for increaing mileage ahead of my 10 miler in Nov.

rhetorician · 16/09/2011 22:05

bonkers sounds sore - that just happened to my running friend at work - she says she feels like a 6 year old!

by all means, come over!

OP posts:
ibbydibby · 16/09/2011 22:06

Bonkers perhaps you need a pie?

Pawsnclaws · 16/09/2011 22:13

peach are you serious?! I love BC!!

backwardpossom · 16/09/2011 22:13

Thanks rhet :)

fannybanjo · 16/09/2011 22:25

peach apologies - I seem to have dragged the thread down with my scouseness... Blush. Will try my hardest to be Ladylike at all times Wink .......

F*ck it. Can't do it!! Grin

How's the bump? Glad DD settling bit better - she sounds hilarious! However my two little ones both throw wobblers going into preschool and they've been going for months and months! Hmm

bonkers we need a photo of said scab on knee. Just so we can oh and ah and give you loads of cyber sympathy. Hope it heals soon. We all seem to have slight injuries on here at the mo.

rhet I loved pies when pregnant with DD1 which may be the reason why my arse expanded like a Hot Air balloon. Gaviscon will be needed on tap.

orangehead · 16/09/2011 22:30
