well that was fun (Blackpool); DD's dad ran a half in Blackpool a couple of years ago (he's a prop, so looks pretty funny, running) - was supposed to do a full, but faked had a hamstring problem and only did the half. He was disparaging about B'pool's charms, it must be said (but then he is from Yorkshire - just)
yes, DP is veggie and I am all hippy and ethical about meat (or try to be), so we eat very little meat overall. DD doesn't much like it (unless disguised in spag bol or, her favourite, cottage pie, or meatballs). She does like chicken (and enjoys gnawing the bones!), and sometimes pork. I think it's actually about texture. She will almost always eat fish though (including mackerel!) which is great (although not very ethical).
Different hospitals here do different numbers of scans - last time we would only have had one at 20 weeks (we paid!); this time we had an early one, the nuchal (which we should have paid for but it was so miserable that they didn't charge us), and then 20 and 24 weeks (because of the high nuchal). But they are absolutely overwhelmed in mat services - cut-backs plus a baby boom (it's a recession, nothing better to do!), so DP was told that unless she couldn't walk with SPD that there wasn't a chance of any physio
. But DP reckons the baby will be born in about 20 minutes, so we probably won't be adding to the strain...
v short run due to time pressure for me today - it was a recovery run, really, but I felt yesterday's effort and my 5am wake-up (dd keeps waking up because she is cold...can't work out how to make her keep her covers on). Also menstrual, which never helps matters (of any kind). Intervals for me tomorrow though :)
wow, what a long post; anyone would think that interesting things happen in my life. Not.
