Best base layer for running?

To all those runners out there, which base layer would you recommend?

I'm looking for something good and reasonably priced.

depends on the weather etc - I go long sleeved tee in winter and build over that. try sweatshop online. they sell at a good price and if you register they frequently have good sales that they email you about. not the funkiest, sexiest, spangliest kit, but practical. yep. i'm a boring one i know!

I got my last one from Trespass. It came in a box and I think might have been sold as thermal underwear but is bright pink (they also had black from memory) and looks very nice on its own. It was cheap (about a tenner) but is v functional.
