trail running shoes

I'm not a great distance runner, but I like to run across the fields, for at least part of my runs. It's very muddy and slippery underfoot atm, and I was thinking of investing in some trail running shoes.

Will they be all right for the road part of my run, or will I have to modify my routes?

Also, is there anything in particular I need to know about before buying these?

I find my trail shoes are ok if your route covers a bit of road, but I wouldn't like to do long road runs in them. As for running across the fields they are great and really help with slipping. I got mine from the same place I bought my running shoes. There was less choice of trail shoes, but I suppose I don't do as many miles in them. Happy running.

No - it's a bit of road, prob about a mile and a half thats difficult to avoid.

Right, I'm going shopping!

Hi Butterbur just wondering if you purchased trail shoes and which ones?

Hi-tec have just launched the Infinity trail running shoe - it's one of the lightest on the market and has ion mask waterproofing so should be good for field / damp running.

I don't have a pair yet but would be interested to hear if anyone has any reviews on them?

Thanks

I got these, Megan. They are light, comfy and waterproof. I got them because I wanted to order over the web, and I know what size I am in Asics.
