Well done!

ShowOfHands · 12/07/2010 19:05

Huzzah. Knew you'd do it. Was the bleep test alright?

And September is good. Body armour atm is very hot indeed, come September it'll be perfect.

September's close too. You must be relieved/excited/ecstatic.

You should be v proud of yourself.

ThatVikRinA22 · 12/07/2010 19:31

thanks. bleep test was fine - that was never my problem! the blooming push pull thing was but i passed it today with a kilo spare. so now i know i can do it im fine.

off to get a bottle of wine to celebrate! (not too much mind you! but i deserve a glass today - ive been so worried about it!)

Just wondered if it was the same as dh's bleep test where everybody got to the required standard and then carried on anyway, their egos battling it out as far as they could push it. I'd have got to the required standard and sat the feck down frankly.

The push test is tricky isn't it? There were some super fit ladies on dh's intake that struggled because they weighed less than a gnat and just didn't have the mass to do it.

ThatVikRinA22 · 12/07/2010 20:10

in theory it was - you could either stop at 5:4 or keep going

i kept going but realised pretty quickly i was in a minority!!

i have just had a very naughty Mcdonalds - one hasnt passed my lips in months and months.

ah well. back to the gym on Wednesday but i felt the need to have something naughty to eat!
am gonna have a glass of wine in a minute too! then too bed for a good nights sleep - i think this test has really been on my mind big time - i was sleep talking to DH last night - apparently i turned the light on and told him to mind something that was on the floor. he asked what and i said "that big pad that you have to push".....he said "what??" then realised i was fast asleep!this push pull thing really has been on my mind!

LostGirl · 13/07/2010 08:03

Hurrah!

Congratulations, so pleased for you, you deserve it after all your training. Good luck in September when you start, hope you enjoy it.

MaryBS · 13/07/2010 08:06

Congratulations! Are you going to become copperinatutu now?

MoshiMoshi · 13/07/2010 18:46

Congratulations! Yes, I like CopperInATutu or FuzzInATutu (although slight double entendre there?!)

cleverlyconcealed · 13/07/2010 18:48

Oh congrats

scurryfunge · 13/07/2010 18:48

You will be TuteeinaTutu when you finish college.

tibni · 13/07/2010 18:56

well done

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/07/2010 19:10

or

terrifiedinatutu....

i am really looking forward to it but im so nervous! everyone seemed really lovely on my intake though, im sure we will bond well. there were quite a few women aswell which was nice.

i have sat today at work with a grin like a cheshire cat knowing i am on the verge of handing in my notice! i really dont enjoy my job and some of my colleagues are insufferable racists...actually just make that insufferable. i cannot wait to hand in my notice! that will be a very very sweet feeling indeed.

i couldnt sleep last night! i am just praying nothing goes wrong now...

Congratulations!
And Good Luck wtih the training.

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/07/2010 19:33

thankyou! i can hardly believe it. its been a gruelling 18 months. i really have gained in confidence just going through the recruitment process. at each step i kept thinking "oh this will be it, ill never get through this bit" but i did! i am really thrilled and its just such a massive relief to get the fitness done. i have never been sporty or seen myself as strong or fit - yet at 38 ive had to train 5 days a week and i found it hard going! and having failed the fitness test once i was very nervous about re taking it. i had really got where i was overthinking it and i was so scared.

but i have to say im an exercise addict now - i love it. i will just train because i enjoy it now - and hopefully lose a few pounds too!

Well done Vicar! I've followed your threads with all your recent trials and tribulations, and I'm very impressed you succeeded in the end. Just what the force needs!

A friend of mine did the same in her mid-30s and never looked back.

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/07/2010 23:09

thanks so much. im still pinching myself today!
