@pointythings If you ignore some of the data, i.e. the bits that don't suit my narrative, then the data looks different
As demonstrated be remain supporters since 2016 have ignored the following historical facts:
More people voted to leave the EU than remain in 2016.
The option to reverse the vote to leave the EU was presented in 2019 general election, but was not taken.
Unemployement in the UK is lower than before 2016, even though the UK treasury said that a vote to leave would result in a loss of jobs between 500,000 and 800,000 even whilst the UK remained in the EU during the two year negotiationg period as specified in Article 50.
Poverty in Germany is higher than that in the UK.
Unemployment in France amongst young people is higher than in the UK and earnings are lower.
The combined population of the EU and the US is eight times greater than that of Russia, but despite more than two years of EU and US sanctions against Russia, the war has entered its third year.
UK is more desirable than the EU as evidenced by the number of people who will risk their lives by crossing the channel to leave the EU to enter the UK. If living in the EU is better than living in the UK, why is not the other way round?
@IItisymoi I still haven't heard any apologies from Brexiteers for messing up so many lives.
Can you quote a law which states the minority opinion shall prevail over the majority opinion?
Remember that democracy is preserved when the majority opinion is observed. This provides protection to those who have less effective weapons than others, but maybe be larger in number. Examples in history include:
1982 - UK won the Falklands war against larger numbers
1940 - UK won the Battle of Britain against larger numbers
1878 - 150 British soldiers, mostly Welsh, defended Rorkes Drift against 4,000 Zulus as they had Lee Enfield rifles that could kill at over 100yards. Eleven Victoria Crosses were awarded.
1415 - England won at Agincourt even though hugely outnumbered as the English long bow could penetrate armour at 220 yards.
