Westministenders: This is not the Brexit we voted for

UK Shellfish industry destroyed because our inshore waters are not clean enough
Welsh Ports on their knees because the Land Bridge has found another route
Horticulture seed producers lost all of their mainland EU customers

Antique dealers lost access to their suppliers
Small businesses being told (by UK Govt) to relocate to the EU to avoid red tape
Brits in the EU discovering that stopping Free Movement applies to them too
Northern Ireland in Unionist flames because there is a border between them and Great Britain, but not the Republic
And the UK has still not taken control of its borders

Brexit is shaping up as predicted, but none of those who voted for it seem to have what they wanted

Huh? This is the second time I have had a post removed merely for suggesting Clav is not posting in good faith. I’ve not suggested she is not a genuine MNer but I think her motivation here is to be disruptive. Other posters have said the same.

I don’t see what about that breaks the terms and conditions about that?

TatianaBis · 22/04/2021 14:16

I see Jas’s equally un-controversial post has been removed too.

Greenrenault · 22/04/2021 14:38

I've never commented on this thread before but I find your comment not only disgusting but deeply offensive TheSandman.
To be on a forum that supposedly supports women you feel it not only appropriate but acceptable to make these sort of comments which are so demeaning to women.
You had the opportunity to clarify it was your tasteless sense of humour after the poster you directed it to questioned you, but you continued on with your sleazy allegations.
Shame on the rest of you for not speaking up that this is unacceptable language aimed at denigrating women.

TatianaBis · 22/04/2021 14:56

It clearly wasn’t a serious comment given that the Sun scrapped page 3 over 5 years ago.

TheElementsSong · 22/04/2021 14:59

Well gosh.

Gosh, I wonder why Johnson was so desperate to get to India...

(I'm an intermittent lurker, and am also convinced that Clavinova is not a good faith poster.)

What if it could have affected Dyson's own tax / non-residency status?

dyson moves residence to uk

You mean looking for 'mates rates' on his own taxes perhaps - ok I'll buy that.

GeistohneGrenzen · 22/04/2021 15:48

Well gosh indeed TheElementsSong

Seems we have a brand new poster on MN - unless a name change has been effected.

Greenrenault · 22/04/2021 15:51

Gosh, the gaslighting cavalry have arrived.
You do know stalking is a crime?

prettybird · 22/04/2021 16:07

As I never bother reading C&Pova's posts (although chapeau to those that do take the time to read and tear apart his or her posts Wink), my most constructive contribution to this thread at this stage (certainly more constructive than his or her contributions Grin) are some pictures of the tulips coming out in my garden.

We could all do with a bit of colour SmileThanks

I have no words for how confused I am. I mean, calling out the Sun as not a quality newspaper and mentioning its history of exploiting women isn't homophobia, is it? If you quote a paper like that as a source, expect to be challenged.

Not sure what there is that needs MNHQ involvement here.

TheElementsSong · 22/04/2021 16:33

Gorgeous tulips prettybird Flowers

prettybird · 22/04/2021 16:37

Just need to correct my grammar: my most constructive contribution to this thread at this stage (certainly more constructive than his or her contributions ) is some pictures of the tulips coming out in my garden. Wink

Channelling my mother Grin

Gosh, I wonder why Johnson was so desperate to get to India...

This explains why, having stropped out of the EU, they are so desperate to be part of the Trans Pacific Partnership.

NB to Raab - the ocean bordering the United Kingdom is the Atlantic.
The Pacific is on the Other Side of the World.

prettybird · 22/04/2021 17:19

Remember when May went off to India with a great fanfare just after she'd become PM, expecting to come back with a fabulous free trade deal in principle to announce? Wink Instead she came back quietly, having not managed to get the former colony sovereign nation to commit to anything as she wasn't prepared to commit to more visas for India in return Hmm

Iirc, the sticking point in the EU-India trade deal negotiations had been the UK's reluctance to allow more visas, so with the UK gone, I fully expect the EU to sign a comprehensive FTA with India long before the UK manages to Wink

TheSandman · 22/04/2021 17:46

since when has it been acceptable to make derogatory comments about someone's sexuality?

Who made derogatory comments about anyone's sexuality?

I said "Did you buy the paper for the pictures of naked ladies?"
She said, "But I'm a Woman!" (I paraphrase).
I said, "What's that got to do with anything?".

How is that Homophobic?

Nice tulips, Prettybird.

borntobequiet · 22/04/2021 17:49

We know that Starmer has no functioning sense of humour. That’s why the irony is lost.

borntobequiet · 22/04/2021 17:53

Goodness me. I didn’t know the Sun had abandoned Page 3. How things change.

TatianaBis · 22/04/2021 17:55

Gaslighting is a form of emotional abuse, manipulating the victim to question their sanity. What you meant was contradiction.

And the implication that someone might be attracted to their own gender is of itself neither derogatory nor homophobic. It is homophobic to take offence at the implication though.

LostToucan · 22/04/2021 17:57

I find it interesting that making a comment about The Sun’s most famous feature is disgusting, but giving a timeline of Johnson’s extra marital affairs to demonstrate that it was all fine because his wife wasn’t ill at the time isn’t demeaning to women?
