As expected he's fucking off and leaving everyone else to pick up the pieces in January. But it does look like he was eventually shown the door and left with a cardboard box. As he should have been months ago.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with Johnson needing an image change, like the shape shifting creep he is, to one that fits more with the incoming Biden Administration. In other words hes got some serious sucking up to do...

... Meanwhile in Brexit land we are going into yet another final week of talks.

Many expect Cummings departure to signal 'the cave in'. The Eu say we havent moved enough and the uk say the EU wants us to do all the moving... Except the EU have done lots of moving. Barnier is still looking for a groundsman to level his field to play. We have yet to work out we aren't Canada and distance is important to trade.

Of course if we don't get a deal, that Pfizer vaccine in Germany that we want, might be hit with delays and extra costs we just can't afford.

All the Brexit threads are somewhere in the 57 pages of this board.
The earliest ones date from March 2016

I had to do some searching, but I have found the link:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/eu_referendum_2016_/3653528-Brexitannian-NewSpeak-Dictionary-WIP

Unfortunately, I have moved on from Brexitannian dictionary compilation to writing a tome of fact-squirrels in support of Brexitannia, and so I will have to pass the baton to some other willing lexicographer.

Hot damn, how did I manage that? Shock

In my defence, I just copied it from one of the old threads, so maybe it was an early iteration Blush

When are you publishing your Squirrel Brexitannian Lexicon?

FatCatThinCat · 20/11/2020 13:54

The Patel report says that she bullied staff but there's no evidence that she was aware it was bullying as nobody fed it back to her at the time. She didn't know that shouting and swearing at people at work was bullying? Bullshit.

Second picture down. For some reason MNHQ removed the copy I posted, where I was discussing whether Feldgrau would match.

thank you - yes, her stance could be described as unfortunate.
but her attitude to immigrants and subordinates is no accidental angle
she'd make a perfect 'cover girl' for the Daily Heil

I know Frankie Boyle isn't to everyones taste. But his comment that he could imagine Priti Patel having a "special moment" imagining a slow puncture at sea was probably a note-perfect encapsulation of my appraisal of her.

FrankieStein402 · 20/11/2020 14:27

Chortle - I suspect that resignation is the beginning of the next pfeffel u-turn. Probably a couple of weeks but the priti will be gone.

I suspect we'll see a dismantling of the mechanism for overseeing ministerial conduct. After all, why would you need that when you're already perfect ?

there is a lovely thread trending now about 'putting on 3 stones after uninten-shionally eatin biscuits' Grin

@DGRossetti
I loathe Boyle but I can now picture Priti's response to that scenario.

The North Wales police and crime commissioner has refused to apologise for describing voters who backed Brexit as "turkeys voting for Christmas".

DGRossetti · 20/11/2020 15:05

Frankie Boyle is capable of being surprisingly eloquent in his offensiveness. His closing piece on FB:NWO where he described the end of culture and how a new one will arise was quite Shakesperian. And bloody funny (he corpsed a few times delivering it).

I'll never be able to see a wing mirror on a Prius in the same light again.

ListeningQuietly · 20/11/2020 15:30

Pussycat
Google translate is your friend
but the key point is
With less than six weeks before the deadline of December 31, three scenarios remain possible: an agreement in time to ensure the continuation of trade under current conditions, a brutal and undoubtedly tumultuous economic rupture, and finally a partial compromise, which would specify the rules of trade in certain areas, leaving aside the most delicate points.

Good for him. I don’t apologise for using that expression either 🦃🍗

Peregrina · 20/11/2020 15:34

My French is rusty, but I read that the same blockages remain - fishing, level playing field and the jurisdiction which the rules will be subject to.

So no change there then.
