We are witnessing a demonstration in Government crisis management.

For the past week journalists have asked the same questions and politicians have said they've already done it / are doing it in the near future. But as time wears on, the inability to produce the answers or demonstrate results is proving illusive.

This will have consequences.

It is a demonstration in how planning has proved to be lacking in certain areas.

With Brexit in mind, the lack of vision, coordination with business and wider capability and capacity this does not bode well.

here, it is preferred via sun wherever possible, rather than vitamin pills

hence advice is to take a walk outside if you can, or a walk and a sit down

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/04/2020 21:15

Boris has been admitted to hospital...

Police investigate UK far-right groups over anti-Muslim coronavirus claims

www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/05/police-investigate-uk-far-right-groups-over-anti-muslim-coronavirus-claims

Monitoring service says it has had reports of fake news online as well as physical attacks

BigChocFrenzy · 05/04/2020 21:27

Well, we've seen 5G - including on MN - being blamed for the spread of CV
One MNer claiming 5G and the Freemasons are in it together
Not surprising the racists and probably also the anti-semites will blame minorities

A crisis brings out the best and also the nastiest and the total crackpots

DGRossetti · 05/04/2020 21:28

AIUI seasonal flu vaccines are built from a "kit", You take a template and add the codes for this years model.

The whole point of novel coronoavirus is we don't know the codes.

Remember: even if we increased our knowledges of viruses overnight by a factor of 1,000 we'd still know next to nothing.

And as BSE showed, you don't even need a virus to kill. A few malformed proteins can.

ICouldHaveBeenAContender · 05/04/2020 21:35

Bore - what's your source?

ICouldHaveBeenAContender · 05/04/2020 21:36

OK, just seen it on BBC (Bore)

DrBlackbird · 05/04/2020 21:37

Say's he's been admitted 'for tests' rather than a worsening condition but he's not looked well for some weeks.

DGRossetti · 05/04/2020 21:38

Just wait till Malaria returns to rich countries ....

We know the cure - drain the swamps.

DGRossetti · 05/04/2020 21:39

Of course the VitD link could feed into the sunspot theory ?

yoikes · 05/04/2020 21:43

I sincerely hope the PMs hubris in ignoring WHO advice on contact and social distancing doesn't cost him dear Sad
This viris is no respector of wealth or status Sad

Peregrina · 05/04/2020 21:45

Yoikes - I thought exactly the same. Obviously I would hope that he recovers.

BigChocFrenzy · 05/04/2020 21:47

I doubt if a PM would be advised to go to hospital during a crisis just "as a precautionary measure"

  • especially as hospitals aren't exactly safe atm compared to No 10
TheABC · 05/04/2020 21:49

Hopefully, Johnson's hospital stay is precautionary. However, the fact they announced it now rather than after the fact means they are not sure. :-(

yoikes · 05/04/2020 21:50

Yes.
Hoping he recovers soon.
I can't believe they'd admit him for something run of the mill Sad

DrBlackbird · 05/04/2020 21:54

Now the news is that he'll stay in NHS hospital in London at least overnight but also 'for as long as needed'. Agree, obviously hope he recovers.

Barrique · 05/04/2020 21:55

But they might well bring in the PM for observation under a clinical setting if his symptoms suggest a deterioration.

Unlike lesser mortals.

Tanith · 05/04/2020 22:00

Spare a thought for Jeremy Hunt, who must be absolutely terrified of catching it and ending up in BJ's position.

prettybird · 05/04/2020 22:06

Calderwood has resigned.

yoikes · 05/04/2020 22:08

I imagine none of them ever thought they'd end up in an NHS hospital....

yoikes · 05/04/2020 22:10

I've been keeping my eye on developments in liverpool and very sadly a staff nurse has died Sad

I think that region will be hard hit due to the champions league match played ladt month Sad

yoikes · 05/04/2020 22:11

Boris is only 55.
That's in his favour I think.
I'm trying not to imagine what viral load he may have taken on board Sad

yoikes · 05/04/2020 22:12

She really didn't have a choice pretty

AuldAlliance · 05/04/2020 22:12

Leo Varadkar has returned to practising medicine, to do one shift a week. Phone assessments of CV.
