I will continue to point out to Tory voters the things that are shit because of how they voted. They wanted it, they own it, and they will get called out on it. Every time.

Fill your boots if it makes you feel better

For most of us it’s just utterly tedious and pointless

MysteryTripAgain · 15/02/2020 19:29

Agreed.

MysteryTripAgain · 15/02/2020 19:42

Just as " I voted brexit for freedom" isn't aging well

What is aged well within two weeks of existence?

Mistigri · 16/02/2020 08:27

I'm also a fan of this story, about a man who voted for a Tory government with a record of not giving a shit about Britons overseas and then ... was very put out when the government didn't give a shit about Britons overseas.

www.bbc.com/news/uk-51519687

(Now the US, Australia and Canada are planning to rescue their citizens and it's in the press, I expect the U.K. government will suddenly start paying attention).

GhostofFrankGrimes · 16/02/2020 08:34

Whatever happened to "oven ready" brexit?

MysteryTripAgain · 16/02/2020 08:56

Whatever happened to "oven ready" brexit?

Never existed to begin with. Just like the recession and 800,000 job losses.

Jason118 · 16/02/2020 08:56

They forgot to turn the oven on

Jason118 · 16/02/2020 08:59

Or buy an oven

Jason118 · 16/02/2020 08:59

Or build a kitchen to put the oven in

Catting · 16/02/2020 09:05

Haaa oh dear Colin but I'm laughing because I've got a Phd in I told you so, you nobnugget

My ex has a PhD, and didn't know France used the euro. This means nothing. Apart from making you sound incredibly patronising that is.

MysteryTripAgain · 16/02/2020 09:33

@Catting

Well said. Many posters on these threads think they know better than others.

Many a successful entrepreneur left school without any formal education, but when on to start multi million, in some cases multi billion, pound turnover businesses.

malylis · 16/02/2020 10:42

survivor bias.

Far more people leave school without any qualifications and don't succeed. Graduates out earn non graduates.

People always cite entrepreneurs with no qualifications but leave out other bits that made them successful.

FlamingoAndJohn · 16/02/2020 11:33

Sadly I doubt this is a parody account.

I have a Brexit voting family member. He voted Brexit because he doesn’t like Muslims. He works in a factory making a product to EU standards. Because of leaving the EU the factory will most likely shut. But it’s ok because he knew what he was voting for.

MysteryTripAgain · 16/02/2020 11:39

Graduates out earn non graduates

Does that take into account the years of lost earnings and debts of £50+?

malylis · 16/02/2020 11:51

Oooh look at mystery thinking he has made a clever point.

Earnings don't take into account debt but it is calculated over a lifetime aversge.

Graduates out earn non graduates and reach their earning peak later.

ListeningQuietly · 16/02/2020 11:55

Anybody who thinks that Mr Colin Browning is a spoof is clearly too idle to click through to his twitter account.

I hope he is as delighted on 31st January 2021
as he was on 31st January 2020

malylis · 16/02/2020 12:00

Is not a spoof.

MysteryTripAgain · 16/02/2020 12:54

Earnings don't take into account debt but it is calculated over a lifetime aversge

Not a very logical calculation if it ignores the upfront costs. What happened to discounted cash flows and Net Present Value?

ArriettyJones · 16/02/2020 12:58

That is a parody account.

I think getting cross at parodies is probably a waste of energy.

malylis · 16/02/2020 13:08

Its a totally logical calculation because we don't consider upfront costs, discounted cash flows or net present value for non graduates either.

These are only applicable when you know exact specifics regarding finances and this isn't applicable to average earnings. Nor are debts of 50k applicable to all graduates

Nice try though. Graduates out earn non graduates on average, your survivor bias attempt to justify your point was flawed. Again.

malylis · 16/02/2020 13:08

Its isn't a parody account, if you follow the tweets back it certainly isgenuine.

ListeningQuietly · 16/02/2020 13:09

Arrietty
If it is a parody, its a remarkably consistent parody in its views on football and cycling

ArriettyJones · 16/02/2020 13:26

So is Titania McGrath. There isn’t much point in a parody account unless you’re consistent, is there?

malylis · 16/02/2020 13:28

Its not a parody. Parodies are funny intentionally this is the first time its been funny, and its unintentional.

ArriettyJones · 16/02/2020 13:30

Oh it’s not funny. But it’s trying to be. Like a very pale imitation of that Pub Landlord character.

Not one to waste blood pressure spikes on.
