Sam Coates Sky @SamCoatesSky
Exit poll suggests Luciana Berger might be on course to win Finchley

And Tories take back Canterbury

And take 2 Birmingham seats

I've got a large tent, a large supply of food, a 1960s camping stove, and a family railcard so am heading to prettybird's ASAP.

MyNameIsArthur · 12/12/2019 22:38

Opposition parties didn't need this election. They already had power over the Tories who were a minority govt and could have got through a second referendum if Corbyn had wanted to

CendrillonSings · 12/12/2019 22:38

Maybe Labour could try not fielding a team of Marxists and antisemites next time? We did warn them.

The80sweregreat · 12/12/2019 22:38

Corbyn and his ilk lost us this election.
Let's hope they will soon be history.
Meanwhile the fat cats get bigger and fatter and more people will end up on the floor of hospitals A and E waiting for treatment.
I'm so angry that it's come to this. Watching Boris tomorrow tell us more lies is more than I can bear.

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 22:39

Exit poll suggests that both the Scottish Secretary Alistair Jack and the Shadow Scottish Secretary Lesley Laird could lose their seats

I want to cry, but can't.

tobee · 12/12/2019 22:39

Saying it again but this would have been what I was expecting in 2017. That would have made sense.

Songsofexperience · 12/12/2019 22:39

So angry at Corbyn and Swinson.
Both need to go sharpish.

The only good thing about a large majority is that the ERG won't have so much power.

We may get a FTA.

Need to start looking for positives........

Or move country

Some woman on Sky has just said that if this is the majority he won't now be constrained by the ERG or the DUP. So it might be a different Brexit altogether.

TatianaLarina · 12/12/2019 22:40

Robert Peston @peston

This could be Labour's worst performance since it became one of the natural parties of government. Huge question for the party now about whether it wants to become an influential pressure group or a contender to govern.

The80sweregreat · 12/12/2019 22:40

I was expecting a hung parliament but this is awful news.

calamityjam · 12/12/2019 22:41

I'm watching channel 4.At least the humour is keeping me from crying. My 12 year old has fallen asleep next to me with the dog and cat so no sleep for me anyway! However looking at his innocent beautiful sleeping face, I worry so much what his future will hold in this awful right wing country of ours. I'm going to start playing the lottery so I can jump ship to Canada.

TatianaLarina · 12/12/2019 22:41

Nick Cohen @nickcohen4

Some strangely heartening findings in this piece that non-Jews were genuinely repulsed by the antisemitism

The80sweregreat · 12/12/2019 22:41

The only glimmer of hope is Corbyn will have to go !

OublietteBravo · 12/12/2019 22:42

@Random18 - I’m that case I’m moving country. It’s easier than looking for positives.

Hereyougosandwiches · 12/12/2019 22:42

Some woman on Sky has just said that if this is the majority he won't now be constrained by the ERG

Yes I was thinking that. A small positive.

Wheresthebeach · 12/12/2019 22:42

I’m stunned and I can’t believe people voted for someone so dishonest. But then look at Trump.

I can only tell myself that everything - NHS - can be renationalise in time, the Americans thrown out when people start to live the reality of what they’ve voted for. We’ve a decade of hell for sure. Genuinely can’t get my head around it.

Triumph of lies, greed and stupidity. I’d so convinced myself we’d get a hung parliament

I think this confirms that a second referendum would have been won by Leave.

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 22:43

Ed Conway@EdConwaySky
Leigh has never been Conservative. Not since the constituency was created in the 19th century. It was liberal and then Labour forever. According to our exit poll it is likely to go Conservative in this election. Extraordinary if right. Britain’s political map being redrawn.

Christ

DH has been suggesting this all week though from what he's heard anecdotely.

OP posts:
TokyoSushi · 12/12/2019 22:44

Well I don't really know what to do with myself now, utterly horrified.

Think I will wait for Sunderland, go to bed, then DH is on nights so I can nap and watch throughout the night.

What the actual fuck though?? 🦆
