First off, comrade Hilda has been busy in the propaganda dept! Praise be to Hilda! The dear leader will appreciate and reward your efforts with a cushy job in the newly opened Ministry of Bullshit. ✊🥀

Specials board.

⭐️ Snacks.

•Salty Bar nuts
(we always have too many)

•Marrow crisps,
I know you all hate them, but we had a glut and needed to do something with them. 🤷🏻‍♀️😬

⭐️ Mains.

A festive choice of...

•’Properly Stuffed’ “Christmas voting” Turkey.

•Festive Glazed Gammons.

•Goose that laid the Gilded socialist egg.

•’Whigs’ in blankets.

•Sauce for the Goose and Sauce for the Gander

•Brussels’ sprouts.
Divisive, yet still popular in some quarters...

•Neeps and tatties.
Grown in Corbyn’s Communist plot and kindly gifted back to us by the SNP.

⭐️Festive Drinks.

•Rebecca’s long Baileys.
Seems nice enough, but can be vicious if you have too much.

•Corbyn’s Victory Gin.
State sanctioned by big brother.

•Bag in, artisan Earl Grey Cocktail.
A Boris election special.

•Red flag Rum.
for the singing socialists among us.

•Egg nog.
Gifted by Trump. Sticks in your throat a bit, but it’s polite to drink it and pretend to half enjoy it anyway.

•The #ClassicDmitri.
Shaken and stirred. A Russian Vodka based Cocktail, shrouded in mystery and intrigue. No one really knows how it came to exist, but all we know is, that it might have happened. Somewhere. And now it’s on the menu. Enjoy!

⭐️Desserts.

•Imported Panettone.
Get it fast, I’m reliably informed we will never ever have it again post Brexit.

•Traditional Christmas pudding.
have a good look for that old fashioned sixpence inside, we might need it when all the money runs out.

•Damson jam steamed pudding.
I’m told by the suppliers, that It’s like the infamous Mumsnet chicken, we can get eleventy billion servings from it and still have more for the freezer.

As always, welcome to all who pass through this place, but, as ever please observe the sign above the bar. If you can’t read it. It says...

DON’T BE A TWAT.

Epic, 😂🤣😂🤣

So to summarise, on Election Night, the rota will be:

2200-midnight Twattage (with ClassicDmitris and cheeseboard)
Midnight-0200 Myself (with stiff brandies to calm the nerves, plus a selection of fresh nuts)
0200-0400 Hate (possibly with Albanian delicacies and a hangover cure)

Just need someone to start it all off...

Dusty, how did you photoshop Boris's face onto Dom Raab? 😂🤣😂🤣. Thank you!

Singing I may be able to help out between 8 - 10pm if nobody else is available. However, I am the (moderate) Labour voter (but not on this occasion, oh no!) so not sure whether my vittler's licence is valid for the Arms?

If anyone else steps forward for the slot though, I'll bow out gracefully of course.

Well well well.

Just had a Conservative canvasser on the doorstep. The first canvasser I've seen. I asked him whether the definition of the word woman had ever come up. He said, yes, and he proceeded to demonstrate a surprisingly well-informed gender critical knowledge of the issues: changing rooms, toilets, sports, prisons. He said he'd just had a discussion with a woman wavering about her vote but she is now promising to vote Conservative as she cannot abide that aspect of the LibDem manifesto.

I asked him if he would relay both her concerns and mine back to CCHQ and he said he would, adding, "The views expressed on Twitter about this do not, from what I can see, reflect what people are saying in real life. They are trying to erase women's rights".

GreenishMe, of course you are eligible! Thank you. You're on the rota.

😮

That's encouraging!

He's right about twitter though

Most normal, ordinary, everyday people don't have much truck with the whole genderfluid, nonbinary, trans nonsense

Sadly, it seems to be the people with power that do swallow it all up - and the people with power make the rules... 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm hoping the push for woke points which started under Cameron is ditched entirely now - leave the woke stuff to the rest of them

Ok, thank you....I'll sort out my menu.

Just one thing.....as I seem to be the one opening up on Thursday, will the meme etc. be carried over from Wednesday? I'm absolutely bobbins at that sort of thing, sorry :(

Posting purely because I love what he's done to the LibDem logo. What happens to a party with no compass.

I also asked him to pass on a message to CCHQ: that while the issue is too toxic to add to the mix right now, once the election is over, if the Conservative Party came out as openly gender critical instead of quietly so, it would win over a lot more women. He said that as a father of two young daughters, he'd be happy to.

That article is 😮 Howabout!

That the Lib Dems just made up stuff is bad enough, but that the Guardian didn't even bother to check any of the details, even a cursory look, is beyond!!

Star Lily
My New Year's resolution should be to get as meme savvy as you all.

Brilliant Janice Turner opinion piece in The Times yesterday advising CCHQ of the same. Talking to my 2 late teen DDs I think peak woke has been reached even among their age group.

Thanks for the article Howabout!

Well well well, that wouldn’t be libdem remainers spreading #fakenews and #alternativefacts would it?

That’s the trouble with stats, they are only as good as the questions asked, the sample group used and the variables included/excluded. They are very easily skewed to suit the originators.

My boys are 14 & 17 - very much not woke re gender identity & neither are their male friends
Their female friends however are worried about it 'not being nice' to say anything against trans dogma, even though they think it's nonsense

The Guardian tell their readers what they want to hear and if they didn't their readership would just dismiss whatever they said.

This is why I can forgive Boris a bit of obfuscation.

In a similar vein:

Additional 19k nurses retained and 31k recruited in my book is the same as increasing nurse numbers by 50k. It would be to everyone else if it suited them. (my 2 nursing cousins have just retired early under the old pension arrangements after 35+ years service apiece - they are some of the last who will be able to do this. Nursing retention will naturally start to improve with or without political intervention - if journalists pointed this out then that would be an honest critique, but it applies equally to the Labour figures)

“Additional 19k nurses retained and 31k recruited in my book is the same as increasing nurse numbers by 50k.”

Hmmm, I don’t know, it was daft really as it left them wide open to the fair critique. I see that Boris is now stating it by the breakdown rather than the total figure, which seems more honest. It was disingenuous to present it that way, when it was not up to it’s face value claim imo.

I get what they are trying to say, and it’s a good thing over all obvs, but retention and new are quite different in practice and most normal people know that.

Obvs, losing nurses does decrease the total figure of employed nurses, but the problem is, the claim ‘new’ was always going to fall apart on further inspection.

I'm afraid that it was women and girls worrying about not being nice that allowed the whole thing to get this far.

I'm glad, though, that common sense and biological truth still reign among the young. They are the ones who are being truly targeted and I fear for them.
