Hi all - have lurked before on this and read quite a lot about 6 Months ago but don’t think I posted back (unless having a senior moment which is possible )
I came back to see whether any reality had hit at all - and it hasn’t. You are all in same place (by the sounds of it all relatively comfortable and sure that brexit won’t affext your lives at all and happy to be rather unkind to those it will).
Like nice Boris who promised that EU citizens would have an automatic right to remain - and i have just been supporting a friend through the process - she had nothing through for weeks and then had to call daily until it finally came through. Her whole life is based in the UK now
But like all of you - my how we laughed and it was such fun !!!!!

I understand some of our langoustine and crab fetch a premium in some countries, so can appreciate their export value for UK fishermen, but what about all the other fish that gets exported - can't we eat them?

We have wonderful fish here, even squid last Tuesday but only the salmon comes from another country (organically farmed from Scotland). It's not just sand eels and whiting; almost all the spider crab goes to France and Spain, along with much of the other prime white/flat fish. Huge articulated lorry loads go to France and Spain from Plymouth and Poole daily. The French and Spanish fleets do not want to to lose access to our fishing waters, because our fish is superior and their waters have been plundered.

Probs won’t see this in the guardian or the indy.

That silliness about the fishfingers reminds me of something at work the other day......the CEO, who is a very intelligent woman, was telling some of the young girls that if we leave the EU there won't be bananas in the shops anymore because they'll all have gone off by the time they reach the UK!
