First off, comrade Hilda has been busy in the propaganda dept! Praise be to Hilda! The dear leader will appreciate and reward your efforts with a cushy job in the newly opened Ministry of Bullshit. ✊🥀

Specials board.

⭐️ Snacks.

•Salty Bar nuts
(we always have too many)

•Marrow crisps,
I know you all hate them, but we had a glut and needed to do something with them. 🤷🏻‍♀️😬

⭐️ Mains.

A festive choice of...

•’Properly Stuffed’ “Christmas voting” Turkey.

•Festive Glazed Gammons.

•Goose that laid the Gilded socialist egg.

•’Whigs’ in blankets.

•Sauce for the Goose and Sauce for the Gander

•Brussels’ sprouts.
Divisive, yet still popular in some quarters...

•Neeps and tatties.
Grown in Corbyn’s Communist plot and kindly gifted back to us by the SNP.

⭐️Festive Drinks.

•Rebecca’s long Baileys.
Seems nice enough, but can be vicious if you have too much.

•Corbyn’s Victory Gin.
State sanctioned by big brother.

•Bag in, artisan Earl Grey Cocktail.
A Boris election special.

•Red flag Rum.
for the singing socialists among us.

•Egg nog.
Gifted by Trump. Sticks in your throat a bit, but it’s polite to drink it and pretend to half enjoy it anyway.

•The #ClassicDmitri.
Shaken and stirred. A Russian Vodka based Cocktail, shrouded in mystery and intrigue. No one really knows how it came to exist, but all we know is, that it might have happened. Somewhere. And now it’s on the menu. Enjoy!

⭐️Desserts.

•Imported Panettone.
Get it fast, I’m reliably informed we will never ever have it again post Brexit.

•Traditional Christmas pudding.
have a good look for that old fashioned sixpence inside, we might need it when all the money runs out.

•Damson jam steamed pudding.
I’m told by the suppliers, that It’s like the infamous Mumsnet chicken, we can get eleventy billion servings from it and still have more for the freezer.

As always, welcome to all who pass through this place, but, as ever please observe the sign above the bar. If you can’t read it. It says...

DON’T BE A TWAT.

🎄 🌟 🎁 🍸 🥜 🦃 🎅

Totally agree on the Done/Started we're too thick to understand the implications descriptions. I just scream (in my head) when someone starts wittering on that this is just the beginning, I ALREADY KNOW THAT!!

Another little observation re: the latest Corbyn 'Treasury dossier expose' was that it looked like a PPT presentation (probably making 2 pages if the font size was reduced), had the word Potential in the heading and far too simplistic to be an actual policy document, little more than a 'brainstorming' session over a plate of biscuits.

Will they never learn...

“Will they never learn...”

Nope! 😂

😱 intersting! Do you have any pics?

Probably more than 2 pages (guilty of oversight there).

I've included the pic of JC showing the 'highly official nature' of the document PPT presentation involved. Someone must have tippexed out the TOP SECRET stamp on it. Or maybe they didn't.

Hi all after my healthy morning latte and Milky Way
Good to hear you all and hear a different perspective though makes me even more miserable about the post election world
For those saying we will just buy more UK fish it doesn’t work like that unless all your friends love sand eels and whiting. In reality to get people to buy more british fish you have to make that cheaper and make usual fish like haddock and salmon more expensive. So get brexit done means more expensive fish fingers...
What struck me was the limited response on NI - my work also takes me to NI and when wonderful brexit is done (and in your heads all sorted) who do you think has to work to work out what the new forms are and fill them in.
But you can have a drink for me while you have fun and I and millions of others deal with the consequences Smile

A hard time in the UK for 20 years to do brexit I would buy - wouldn’t be my choice but is honest
Boris is the perfect leader for those who believe brexit isn’t very hard and we should just get on with it as he doesn’t do details and lies to brush over inconveniences
When it all gets hard just don’t scapegoat me, civil servants, Europeans,
Whoever (which is usually what happens)
But my user name is perfect as brexit does take us all back to the 70s! (

AutumnRose1 · 07/12/2019 11:45

I’m not going to look up the Shake and Vac ad

But I think it’s the length of the Milky Way one that makes it worse.

Wasn’t there an ad for electric showers or something, with a dancing mop? I liked that. Good music.

I see no one has mentioned my Douglas Murray crush, which means I feel like Charlotte in the Sex and the City scene.

Charlotte: I had a college crush on Dan Quayle.

Others: continue previous chatting

Charlotte: I had a college crush on Dan Quayle

Miranda : yes, we tried to ignore that the first time!

I can’t remember if the politician Carrie dated was linked to a named party or if we were just supposed to decide for ourselves?

Still no canvassers round here. Very odd considering how borderline it is. Or does that make it unsafe for canvassers?

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 07/12/2019 11:59

“But you can have a drink for me while you have fun and I and millions of others deal with the consequences smile”

Milky. We have answered all these questions a million times before, the threads have been running for YEARS and no offence, but your posturing and approach towards us is now just bordering on rude.

Please feel free to trawl the pub archives for your answers. You say you haven’t visited this pub before, which is a little strange, as your posting style seems very familiar, probs just a coincidence though. 🤷🏻‍♀️

IMO Milkywayfan, a Labour government would be the one that would take us right back to the 70s.

So get brexit done means more expensive fish fingers...

Fish fingers, currently selling at £2 for ten, are only 58% fish. The cost of fish per finger will be pence (once you deduct from the pack price the cost of processing, staff wages, staff pension schemes, packaging, transport and distribution, and of course advertising). If the EU wishes to impose a tariff, let it. Other cod-fishing countries are available. Iceland, for example, is in the EEA, not the EU, and I'm sure they will still want to sell us cod.

My brother, by the way, managed a fish finger processing plant just outside Reykjavik for a couple of years. He roared laughing when I asked him about this.

Have a brennivin on ice, on me. 🍸

SingingLily · 07/12/2019 12:22

Mmm, fish finger barm for lunch. Can't stop thinking about that now.

Get stuck in, before you have to sell the family heirlooms to afford one.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 07/12/2019 12:32

All those fish fingers, having to be dumped back in the sea with no buyers.

Poor Captain Birds Eye.

That’s it, I’m voting lib dem, let’s revoke this madness.

OP posts:
EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 07/12/2019 12:34

I’ve always been against the removal of fish’s fingers anyway tbh. Nasty business.

"It's been sheer hell. I had to fill out an extra form about fishfingers. What's for tea?"

"Umm, fishfingers".

Why, oh why, didn't David Cameron mention this in the glossy £9m referendum information brochure?

It could have made all the difference.

howabout · 07/12/2019 12:56

In reality to get people to buy more british fish you have to make that cheaper and make usual fish like haddock and salmon more expensive.

It really is a parallel Universe out there. All my salmon, fresh and smoked is Scottish. Same applies to trout. If I want to push the boat out and get wild it usually comes from the US.

The haddock and cod we eat is fished from Scottish/Nordic waters. We only "import" it because a) it is caught by rEU vessels and/or b) it is processed and frozen in the EU. We will doubtless be doing this for some time post Brexit as a) we will still sell off our fishing licences and/or b) it will take a while for the UK fleet and processing to scale up or even decide it is economic to do so.

Sorry bit distracted with being a Roman Centurian for DD3 today but just wanted to compliment Dusty on he Milkway reimagining. I was an adult before it though Sad so to me it will always be "A Mars a Day helps you work, rest and play".

Off to buy the Times to see their new Scottish Indy poll showing 56% No and their critique of LibDem idiocy on GRA.
