I'm not promising to be the resident landlady, and I can't even hope to moderate the discussion or offer up great memes etc because I don't know how, but here's opening the next iteration....

First drink is on the house.

I think it’s the soundbites how, and also some people are offended by his perceived immorality around Women and past stupid statements re; ethnic minorities (understandably)

Personally I couldn’t give a fuck who he fucks, because I am voting for a prime minister not the Dalai lama, but for some people, it’s just not ok.

The soundbites are currently putting him in danger of falling into the Maybot trench.

As for his stupid past comments, they are indefensible, however I do believe that the fully entrenched antisemitic issues in the Labour Party are a more ‘real and present danger’ to minorities, if you will, than some old fashioned (albeit awful) ignorant stereotypes spouted previously off the cuff, by Boris.

Either way, it’s not exactly making for an easy choice for floating voters, never tories, ex labour and remainers, women, ethnic minorities etc...

He needs to step up his shit to win people over. Otherwise this country and our incredible tapestry of inhabitants risk being completely fucked over for generations by the Momentum cult.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 21/11/2019 13:39

“What keeps me going, though, is that Boris has a razor-sharp team around him - plenty from his Mayoral team, Vote Leave and the Taxpayers Alliance - and if there is one thing he is good at, it's picking the right people and giving them the time and space to get on with it. The very opposite of Mrs May who was Mrs Micro Manager.”

So much this!!! ^^ 🙌

Limer · 21/11/2019 13:46

Bloody hell, that poem Shock Grin

Yes, Boris is a good delegator. He gets criticised for not being a detail guy, but for me that's a plus point.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 21/11/2019 13:54

I know Limer, mental isn’t it??? yet Corbyn is publicly lauding this great literary master. Despite the criticism of his own communist sympathies which we keep being told are just hysteria and hyperbole. Cultic Doublethink on a mass scale.

Imagine the uproar if the Tories started quoting from Mein Kampf? But, this will fly under the radar as usual. It’s Extremism hiding in plain sight. The double standards here are unreal.

They are dangerous, deluded people.

I keep hearing about Tory Lies. Well, whether that’s the case or not (and I don’t largely believe it is), I would risk Tory lies and false promises hands down over and over again above the TRUTH of momentum’s Labour.

howabout · 21/11/2019 14:41

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 21/11/2019 14:43

Thanks how, that’ll fuel me a little longer! Grin

Fingers crossed that election night will look very similar. 🤞🏻

howabout · 21/11/2019 14:50

Singing is Grimsby on your list?

Survation constituency level polling has Melanie Onn losing her seat to the Tories due to losing over a third of her current vote to the Brexit Party.

SingingLily · 21/11/2019 15:08

Ooh no, howabout, but it is now - thanks.

Marginal Labour seat on a 57% turnout last time.
Voted Leave 71.45% on a 68% turnout.

The Watchlist grows!

Limer · 21/11/2019 15:55

The Electoral Calculus site is interesting to see statistics and predictions about which seats could change hands.

Just had a targeted FB advert from Boris Johnson asking me to vote Conservative in my constituency Grin Happy to oblige Grin

howabout · 21/11/2019 16:20

Just read p72 of the Labour Manifesto on sorting DWP out - my top priority after Brexit. Unfortunately it does little more than promise sticking plasters most of which the Tories are already covering. No wonder it is getting zero coverage in the launch, which is why I had to go to the actual manifesto.

Would post Angry and Sad but actually it makes my voting decision much more straightforward.

XingMing · 21/11/2019 16:29

My FB feed is really dull. It's convinced I should join Saga, and I want to reply telling them, if I wanted to join an organisation I became eligible for rather a lot of years ago, it would have happened already.

Locally, there are many fewer posters and boards out this GE, but Labour ousted LibDems from second place last time, and they keep crowing they will topple our Tory incumbent this year. We shall see; there's a growing woke element, but also lots of shy Tories who wouldn't dream of declaring their voting intentions from home.

Plymouth Council (not far from here) has f*cked up, but whether its fraudulent intent or gross incompetence it would be hard to determine, though some will try. Not the sharpest knives in that drawer.

My favourite news item today has been the Columbia Road artists who painted road signs to flag up the local drug hot spots, and have seen the trade much reduced.

Shall I make tea? or are you all on harder stuff?

Promoting the merits of Scottish Mead in honour of my Mead drinking great Aunt Xing. She also used honey for her complexion much to the chagrin of her sister who was in charge of laundering pillow cases. Wine

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 21/11/2019 16:35

Herbal Tea please Ming, Am cutting down on the harder stuff, as it helps my diet and my sanity. WinkGrin

SingingLily · 21/11/2019 16:37

It's convinced I should join Saga

😂XingMing. I gave a fake date of birth to Google because I don't like sharing personal info with Big Brother so it will be years before Saga appears on my horizon.

Builders brew, please, and whatever you're having...

Limer · 21/11/2019 17:39

She CRIED??? Classic Labour luvvie! Shedding tears that at last the poor downtrodden masses will be freed from the yoke of capitalism... while simultaneously enjoying the fruits of her multi-million fortune in her posh London palace Grin

Maybe she's been reading the attached Grin

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 21/11/2019 17:40

I think it may have been a filter, but nutty nonetheless! Grin

Cheered me up no end that has! GrinGrin

MeganBacon · 21/11/2019 17:59

Totally agree Limer. The best bosses hire well and let their staff get on with it. He's there as a front man. He's not insecure and interfering which is one of the reason's TM's cabinet couldn't work with/for her.

DustyDiamond · 21/11/2019 18:11

David Milliband sets my teeth on edge and comes across as insincere, self serving and sanctimonious. I like Ed. I liked Douglas Alexander even better but I couldn't stand his sister. I also like Ed Balls but being married to Yvette reflects badly on him.

I also like Ed Balls (and prefer Ed M to his brother)

I was rooting for Andy Burnham in the Leadership contest that Jezsus won 😟

I think he'd have been great

howabout · 21/11/2019 18:14

I would have voted Andy B too. Still think he might get his chance once the shambles gets cleared out as he is nowhere near it.

DustyDiamond · 21/11/2019 18:25

Lily Allen is a dick

Weeping at a manifesto?!

😂😂😂😂😂😂

Brexit Arms: the discussion continues....
Limer · 21/11/2019 18:30

Brilliant Dusty

I love the Blackadder episode about the Dunny-in-the-Wold Rotten Borough election - it's funny because it's so true to life Grin With Vincent Hanna and Colin the dachshund Grin

I don't know anything about Labour's internal policies, but how soon after the GE could they start choosing a new leader? I'd guess the main contenders are already focusing on that.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 21/11/2019 18:46

TBH Limer, I suspect Lily has also been reading the Pro Labour mumsnet threads.

The culty devotion, of the champagne socialists for Jezbollah and his motley crew, would not be out of place around here!

GrinGrinGrin

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 21/11/2019 18:53

The biggest laugh of the day, Was Jezza and his virtue signalling, telling his band of merry men to pipe down for Booing Laura K.

Where have I seen that kind of behaviour towards the free press, from a group of starry eyed fans of a party leader before? 🤔

Oh, yes. That’s it. MAGA fans.

I mean, if the cap fits... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Limer · 21/11/2019 18:58

You're not wrong Epic

I haven't read any pro-Labour threads, I don't have that much spare time Grin But I did read some of the pro-Remain threads during the Referendum, and I was astonished at how quickly those threads moved, and that it was a tight little group who were just stroking each others' egos, while repeatedly bemoaning the fact that all Leavers were stupid uneducated racist northerners.
