I'm not promising to be the resident landlady, and I can't even hope to moderate the discussion or offer up great memes etc because I don't know how, but here's opening the next iteration....

First drink is on the house.

All those things you mention are highly likely due to Boris and Brexit.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 08:20

And these shouty mumsnetters voting for Labour, had the nerve to fucking tell us we were wrong to vote Brexit. They were the ‘intelligent’, ‘caring’, ‘sensible’ ones etc... Well folks, considering you were soooo scaaaared about the economy and loss of freedoms etc... you seem very happy to merrily welcome all that in through a corbyn government. The hypocrisy is unparalleled. There were unknowns around the EU granted, but this IS known. The writing is on the wall. When you have a still failing and only marginally better NHS, but you are on your knees from huge taxes and struggling to find a job (even small businesses have gone to the wall), can’t pay the mortgage because of sky high interest rates etc...

Well. What is it you guys like to say????

CRY. ME. A. FUCKING. RIVER.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 08:21

Go away Parker. I’m so sick of you now, years of you just popping up like a bot. Making random statements with nothing to back it up. You never engage in conversation despite us trying, you just make soundbites. Go somewhere else with that crap.

Parker231 · 27/11/2019 08:24

When did you decide who could post what and when?

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 08:30

I don’t but you never engage, you just post two line random posts, it never matters what conversation we have, you just predictably pop up out of nowhere with nonsensical sentences. People respond and you dissapear again, it’s a waste of time? Whats the point in it?

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 08:33

Aaaaaanyway.

Who is taking on landlord/lady duties for the next thread? 😱

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 08:34

I would do it but I’ve got so much RL shit that I can’t easily dedicate the time... I would otherwise love to.

SingingLily · 27/11/2019 08:34

Good morning, all, kettle's on. Time for BrewBrewBrew all round, I think.

Let's just take a moment more to savour last night's car crash interview with Jezbollah - actually, it was more of a multiple motorway pile-up - and ask ourselves why the Twittersphere and other forms of social media are awash with Corbyn-deniers.

I only hope they are paid for each post and not by the word. I'm on another forum where a one-liner plopper is well-known but safely ignored.

Bacon butty, anyone?

SingingLily · 27/11/2019 08:37

Who is taking on landlord/lady duties for the next thread?

As Xing heroically volunteered for this one, I guess it's time for me to step up to the plate.

Unless anyone wants to arm-wrestle me for it? Grin

TheSultanofPingu · 27/11/2019 08:40

I fear for this country, I really do.
Just because someone is against Brexit, doesn't mean that they idolise Jeremy Corbyn Epic.
I am almost certain that the conservatives will win with a majority, Brexit will happen and we will have years of hardship. It's such a shame that Labour have gone way too far with their manifesto. I think they had the chance to offer real change, but have blown it.

Sad depressing times

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 08:40

Haha, it would be fab to have you do it singing! I will defo do it again another time, I just can’t guarantee my time right now. Smile

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 08:41

Sultan, you are teaching your granny to suck eggs here, I’m not talking about remainers who don’t vote labour, at the risk of repeating myself for the umpteenth time I’m talking about the ones that are.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 08:42

It just (rightly) seems wildly hypocritical.

TheSultanofPingu · 27/11/2019 08:46

Well this will blow your mind, but I will be voting labour. My leave voting town has a Brexit party candidate standing and I will cry and cry if that wanker gets in.

SingingLily · 27/11/2019 08:48

Sultan, my voting choice locally is clear-cut for a multitude of reasons but I do genuinely understand and sympathise with those like yourself who are conflicted about the right thing to do.

I'm afraid that, just as the referendum was binary, so the political choice has become pretty much binary too and people are having to make hard choices about which is the greatest priority for them and what they can bring themselves to sacrifice. It's hard.

DustyDiamond · 27/11/2019 08:50

A soothing medicament for Epic this morning I think...

But yeah - preach to everything you said 🙌

I look forward to your stewardship Lily 😍

✊🌹

I may rewatch Corbzy the 🤡 interview tonight before the next Andrew Neil grilling 😂

SingingLily · 27/11/2019 08:53

As none of the other regulars are around to ask, Epic, I'll start preparing now to do the next shift.

Just a couple of conditions Grin

May I filch your fabulous emoji summary from a previous thread? Suitably amended of course.

Any chance of a Dusty-meme to hang in pride of place behind the bar?

And of course, I'll need to speak to Xing to obtain the keys (but I know where the spare set is Wink)

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 27/11/2019 08:57

I would be honoured! 😂

TheSultanofPingu · 27/11/2019 08:57

Well I am a working class remainer who would never ever vote conservative. I'm totally gobsmacked that certain people who have never voted conservative in their lives have been convinced that it is the right thing to do to 'get Brexit done'.
The Brexit that will make them worse off for years to come.
Labour have ballsed up big time.

Now for the Tories to own their shit!

SingingLily · 27/11/2019 09:08

Fair enough, Sultan. That's democracy.

I love democracy!

TheSultanofPingu · 27/11/2019 09:12

Yeah so do I.
It's just a shame that the democratic vote was tarred with lies and interference.

SingingLily · 27/11/2019 09:14

The Brexit Arms is again open for business!

Huge thanks to our outgoing Landlady, XingMing, who kept the drinks flowing and offered the specialities of the house - crunchy crispy roast potatoes and salted peanuts - entirely free. Although for some reason, the far end of the bar never needed extra nuts 🤷🏼‍♀️. Still, a round of applause for Mine Host.

Here's the new link. See you all in there!

SingingLily · 27/11/2019 09:15

Oops, new link. GrinGrinGrin

Morning all Brew
Been mostly absent for a while due to a very intense week at work last week but catching up now.

Thanks singing for volunteering.
Watched Corbinoff last night with highly engaged and critical ds2 (17) so that was fun although I am worried obvs what Neill will do to Boris who is not great in that forum. It could all go wrong so quickly. Not one for counting chickens me.
But there seems to be consensus in my workplace (financial services) that if the choice is Corbyn or brexit, brexit wins every time. We were always a good natured bunch and now even the remainers are joking about how they have to suck up Boris/Brexit to avoid things far worse.

SingingLily · 27/11/2019 09:27

Morning, Megan, we've decamped to the new thread. There's a Brew waiting for you so come on over!
