😂 lol Arse

Seagulls are exactly like that

Bastards.

I used to live in north of Scotland on coast & they were apex predators 😳😳

howabout · 10/11/2019 15:09

Yep our Seagull in chief is a magnificent specimen but also bad to the bone.

ArseDarkly · 10/11/2019 15:22

A gull actually started dive-bombing ddog when we were on a walk a while back! He's no little toy-dog either - a chunky jack russell with chomping teeth but he was definitely afraid of the gull. In the end I had to pick the big lump up and leg it to the park with him Shock

DustyDiamond · 10/11/2019 15:23

😮😮😮

Poor thing!!

ArseDarkly · 10/11/2019 15:45

Thought I'd look for another funny seagull pic- just seen one of a gull eating a rat whole ShockEnvy

ArseDarkly · 10/11/2019 16:37

Helping myself to a Wine - hope the ll won't mind, i've left the money on the bar. Off to listen to man city v liverpool on 5 live. Hope everyone's had a peaceful Sunday

HateIsNotGood · 10/11/2019 17:46

Evening All - just a swift half please. I don't come in so much because I don't really have anything to opine about nor anything to say or even think to respond to.

Because I've already made my decision and between now and the GE,there's going to be a lot of mud-slinging and way too much said by too many.

It's DS's first GE - he's already registered and we'll see who stands in our constituency - I won't be influencing how he votes at all; just advising him what he needs to do when he's in the booth.

I suppose the only other thing I might have an opinion on is that I hope NI votes for The Alliance Party. I understand that they declare for Remain, but then so did the majority of NI. I believe them to be supportive of non-partisan politics, not aligned by religion or extreme national/unionist structures.

They remind me of the hope created by Betty Williams and Mairead Corrigan in the 1970s.

Dapplegrey · 10/11/2019 17:47

seagulls hunting down live pigeons is gruesome to watch).
We’ve had 3 pigeons killed by hawks in our garden and it’s extremely gruesome to watch. It makes me sad as we’re fond of the pigeons and their cooing reminds me of home and now they’ve fled the area for the time being.

Parker231 · 10/11/2019 18:09

Hatels - DT’s first time voting - they are Canadian citizens but have the right to vote in UK GE. They have both registered to vote at their Uni’s.

Wimbledonna · 10/11/2019 18:12

We've got a pigeon roosting on our bedroom windowsill. Should really sweep her off but the window's painted shut and anyway we've become fond of her now.
Just listened to a programme about Lindsay Hoyle on Radio 4. Made me feel quite optimistic 😀 that he really is going to set the place to rights.

SingingLily · 10/11/2019 18:20

It's a shame that your DS's first experience of exercising his vote has to be in such a febrile election, HateIsNotGood, but we can only hope that it won't always be like this.

Betty Williams and Mairead Corrigan were brave, brave women and I think what they did really brought home to a lot of us not in NI the reality of life and the everyday fears of ordinary people. I worked closely with colleagues who had had to live their lives in an extraordinary state of daily vigilance because of their jobs.

A day for remembrance all round.

DustyDiamond · 10/11/2019 18:28

YY

I feel much the same - I'm feeling pretty detached from the whole thing tbh

I'm keeping an eye on the pills & have been cracking myself up with shit photoshop jobs as it's a new toy on my phone 😳

My anger at everything dissipated when the GE was finally allowed & now it's all in the hands of the electorate 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm just praying for a Tory win & then onwards from there...

We’ve had 3 pigeons killed by hawks in our garden and it’s extremely gruesome to watch.

😮😮😮

Also feeling hopeful about the new Parliament Wimble, however it shakes down, and Lindsay Hoyle will hopefully bring a lot of calm to it all 😊

Don't talk to me about gulls. I used to own a manufacturing bakery in a costal resort. There were the most enormous Gulls that would stand on the lids of our bins just out of the back door. Several of my staff wouldn't go out and put anything in the bins and would leave their bags of rubbish by the back door for me to put out!

DustyDiamond · 10/11/2019 18:29

I'm keeping an eye on the pills

🙄

On the POLLS not the pills...!!

Pigeon nests are the worst in the world, they literally give no fucks when it comes to the art of nest building, think minimalist twig modern art installation but with less twigs and you are somewhere close Grin

GenuineQuestions · 10/11/2019 18:53

Evening everyone.

False widow spiders are not indigenous. They eat far bigger insects than other spiders their size, they bite etc.

They eat other spiders, but why do they get protected but not parakeets?

GenuineQuestions · 10/11/2019 18:54

Frumpty have you been to any wild life sanctuary places, full of baby wood pigeons.

GenuineQuestions · 10/11/2019 18:55

Sadly uber ugly too.

time4chocolate · 10/11/2019 18:58

Evening all👋

I’m the same position as pps in that my vote is already decided so have detached myself from a lot of the campaign shenanigans. I did have a slight feeling in my water that JC might step down as leader this week so hoping that doesn’t happen (will be happy to see him go post GE though and Labour can rebuild).

First time vote for my DS too.

I will join you all for a Wine and a good luck ☘️ for the landladySmile

GenuineQuestions · 10/11/2019 19:04

Time that's what I am worried about!

Happy to see labour rebuild itself but after tories safely in.

HateIsNotGood · 10/11/2019 19:07

Dusty - the pills for the polls mis-wording was rather funny.

I'm not a vindictive person (unless common sense says otherwise) but it does seem that Remain is eating itself.

Looking forwards to GE Night - absolutely do I plan to stay up and watch? Yes. Could I? Only if I kip in the afternoon/early evening.

Will I be LL of The Arms for the night? No - but I'll do a 2hr shift, and back up/understudy for another 2 hrs.

frumpety · 10/11/2019 19:11

I am impressed with those of you who have already decided who to vote for , I'm not even sure what I am having for tea yet Smile

Genuine I live in the country so constantly surrounded by wood pigeons and collared doves and pheasants and rooks Smile

DustyDiamond · 10/11/2019 19:15

I'll def be staying up for election night & praying I won't be crying into my cornflakes on Friday morning.... 😩😩😩

OP posts:
DustyDiamond · 10/11/2019 19:18

I think it's pretty straightforward for most leavers to be fair Frumpety

It's either Tory or Brexit Party

Only leavers who are vehemently against either of those parties for varying reasons will be in a quandary

HateIsNotGood · 10/11/2019 19:23

Hmm - I note how many of us have DCs voting for the first time, I make no assumptions about that, just note it.

Big Remembrance back at Lily for remembering too Betty and Mairead; teenaged little anglo-scot punky, peace and loveniks like myself thought the solution had been found back then. Silly me.

Remembrance Sunday - thankfully I remembered to Remember and remembered all the Family and Friends that had been through War, all since grandfathers have survived, to advise me that War is Bad, so I always support Peace.

After Remembering them All in my brain, the same time the Cannon ended the silence - a mug fell off a shelf. It was a good feeling.
