GE is on! Remainers how will you vote?

Just that really! The General Election is on, either 11th Dec or a few days before but it's going to happen now that Labour have agreed. Tactical voting websites are being prepared as we speak.

If you are a remainer, who will you vote for?

(And if any leavers lurk here, will you vote for Tories or Brexit party?)

They are all clowns.
Probably not voting ,

Redcrayons · 29/10/2019 19:07

I'm in a safe labour seat which voted leave. Our MP is a remainer though so will be interesting to see if he keeps his majority. I can't see people voting Tory, I think The Brexit party or UKIP (are they still going?) will have a very real chance.

I'll be watching the tactical voting site but it will be a choice between labour and lib Dems for me.

issano · 29/10/2019 19:09

I live in a safe Tory seat but will vote either labour/lib dem. I have issues with both parties but no where near as many as o do with the tories!

Adollop · 29/10/2019 19:19

Remainer
Labour - I, unlike many, don't blindly believe the press, I'm a staunch labour voter and like Corbyn. Nothing, but nothing would make me vote Tory and certainly not for Johnson.

Trewser · 29/10/2019 19:19

IF YOU DON'T WANT THE NHS TO BE SOLD TO THE USA THEN DO NOT VOTE CONSERVATIVE!

Don't be silly.

BestIsWest · 29/10/2019 19:22

Labour. My current MP is brilliant, a strong Remainer and she’s got my vote. We’re also quite a marginal constituency so it would be a tactical vote too.
Otherwise I’d vote Plaid Cymru.

lljkk · 29/10/2019 19:23

I'm not voting for Boris The SexPest or for Michael "The country is sick of experts" Gove.
UKIP was previously a climate change denier party & I imagine BxP will be too -- so they're out.

If unicorns existed then I would like Revoke. So LibDems are the obvious choice. May be the only way for that preference to be expressed. Plus the local contest will be LDs vs. Tories.

yikesanotherbooboo · 29/10/2019 19:25

Safe Tory seat here; I usually vote Lib Dem as labour votes are meaningless ( greens are starting to emerge)I'm not convinced by revoke as a ploy but will vote that way as I haven't given up on everyone suddenly seeing sense and wanting to remain.

Sakura7 · 29/10/2019 19:27

Can't understand any Remainer who says they won't vote Confused

Clearly not that bothered about Brexit in that case.

mindproject · 29/10/2019 19:27

I am voting either Lib Dems or Greens, probably Greens. I would never vote for the Tories under any circumstances. I voted Lib Dems last time because of Brexit, but have always voted Labour in the past, never again.

WarwickLife · 29/10/2019 19:28

if (and right now it's a MASSIVE if) the Tories lose, it will not be a majority for either Lab or Lib but some kind of minority / coalition / informal alliance (which I'm actually thinking could be a good thing).

My point is, not voting Lib Dem because you don't want to revoke A50 is a pointless argument because they've said they'll only revoke in the event they get a majority gov- never going to happen.

OP posts:
Nonnymum · 29/10/2019 19:32

Probably libdem

NoWordForFluffy · 29/10/2019 19:35

I'm voting tactically. Either LD or Labour. The aim is to oust the Tory (more likely LD as we've never been Labour).

WarwickLife · 29/10/2019 19:35

Also, as remainers, we want any leavers to vote for Farage's party. For once (and as sickening as it may be) we actually want Farage to do well and reduce the Tory gains.

OP posts:
Redspider1 · 29/10/2019 19:38

Voted leave but under false pretences so wouldn’t now. No idea who to vote for. Probably Green.

daisypond · 29/10/2019 19:40

I’m a natural Labour voter but can’t vote for them now. I’m a remainer in a strong remain Labour seat. Our ghastly MP is stepping down, so it’s a bit all up in the air. Will probably vote Lib Dem.

TheSandman · 29/10/2019 19:41

Remain - SNP

TheElementsSong · 29/10/2019 19:43

Remainer and gender critical. I live in (the rarest of beasts) a LD-Lab swing constituency.

Brexit is my personal Hair-On-Fire issue, and frankly all the major parties (including Tories) have drunk the TWAW Kool-Aid.

Therefore, because an unequivocally anti-Brexit policy is my priority, I will be voting LD.

HateIsNotGood · 29/10/2019 19:55

Leaver - swing voter - tend towards Green but anything goes as immensely dislikes Party Politics. Generally a Tory consituency, but LibDems have had it before as well as locally but have seriously shot themselves by 'misreading' the Electorate recently.

Absolutely the next GE is about Brexit - I'm as keen as anyone else to get on with the other stuff - but it's all stagnant until Brexit or non-Brexit moves to the next stage.

Will vote Tory in next GE. Irrespective of Brexit Party. Unless something else happens to change that. Will continue to vote Green/Independent in the Locals unless...ditto..as above.

KatyCarrCan · 29/10/2019 19:58

I really hope that people don't succumb to apathy
There's no reason to suppose they will. Research shows that voter turn out is usually high when they see clear differences between the parties. Brexit has given some clear lines so voter turnout should be high.
For the person who says the Tories will collapse in Scotland, I'm not so sure. And I say that as someone who usually supports the SNP. But the SNP have thrown women under the bus in the most shameless way. On this and other issues, they have doubled down and refused to engage in debate. They remind me of Labour. But at least Labour had been in power for 20 years before it started treating the electorate with complete disdain. Even if they suddenly realised they'd alienated a percentage of their electorate, I don't think they can turn around that disillusionment in less than 2 months.

FadingStar · 29/10/2019 19:59

@KennDodd yes they were enjoying the cock up the DUP made...they didn't have to do anything or get involved in anything to see reunification move so much closer. I wonder if the DUP will lose seats?

KatyCarrCan · 29/10/2019 20:00

Oops, forgot to say I've no idea who I'll vote for. I'm usually SNP but will struggle to vote for them this time.

horse4course · 29/10/2019 20:02

Hold my nose and vote for anti-brexit labour incumbent I think, but I'm persuadable.

My hope is we get another hung parliament, Corbyn replaced by Starmer or someone else competent, another election in the spring, second referendum in summer and forget the whole bloody thing by this time next year.

Any kind of brexit is objectively worse than the current arrangement. A large part of the motivation for the brexit vote was nothing to do with the EU. It's just inequality.

NerdyCurvyInkedandPervy · 29/10/2019 20:11

Labour. JC4PM 100%.

I can't understand how anyone with any kind of conscience could ever vote for the Cuntservatives.

WarwickLife · 29/10/2019 20:13

If there's a hung parliament then a peoples' vote becomes the most valid way to break the Brexit deadlock.
