I thought we might appreciate a separate thread for organising meet ups and info :)

I am short of time at the moment, so support in gathering info and linking people together is very much appreciated.

It looks like Parliament (according to a Laura K tweet) will be having a special meeting on that day, even though it's a Saturday, so all the more reason to come along and let them know that we reject the situation and that we especially reject a No Deal Brexit.

no, but I've had some very unpleasant and abusive real life hounding by brexiteers recently. Despite that, I'm quite capable of biting my tongue and walking on.

Did both marches (easy for me, I live near London) and there were definitely more people today than in March. The side streets, the parks, the cut-throughs, the pubs - all heaving, as well as the main route.
Huge thanks to all those who made such efforts to come from far and wide and get their voices heard. Very humbling.

Miljah · 19/10/2019 22:54

Thank you to the pair of you who marched today😉. Sorry that one of you had to nip to the loo.... 😂

Sky reporting 2 million. German telly apparently reporting 2.2 million.

thecatfromjapan · 19/10/2019 23:13

2 million!!! Wow.

Portia

Listening They're real toothbrushes!!

Every time I go on a march, I always wish I'd been more inventive.

We walked with a woman with a sound system and sang along to ABBA, which was very enjoyable.

thecatfromjapan · 19/10/2019 23:14

@OYBK I'm really sorry to hear you are having Btexiter hassle. 💐

ListeningQuietly · 19/10/2019 23:23

catfromjapan
I throw nothing away so always have a stash of old toothbrushes
and a roll of red insulating tape
and I'll wear them again if I have to Grin
Friends we met up with thought I was mad
but they always did Wink

ListeningQuietly · 19/10/2019 23:58

PS
The obscene arrogance and cruelty of Rees Smug making his kid walk through the crowd appals me.
There are tunnels ALL OVER Whitehall leading to remote car parks to make a quiet exit.
They CHOSE to put a child into a hostile environment
They CHOSE to waste police resources escorting them
Money grabbing bastards

stayathomegardener · 20/10/2019 00:02

Just got back in!
Left yesterday at 4.30am, seems like a dream now.

Great news on numbers.

Bigeater · 20/10/2019 00:12

Wow stayathomegardener well done for travelling so far and to all others that did so xx

Angryresister · 20/10/2019 00:23

Thank you to everyone who marched...fantastic number.

yikesanotherbooboo · 20/10/2019 00:25

I am really chuffed to hear about the numbers. I felt that there was an air of sadness around today as if BJ's deal was an inevitability however having left London and made my way home I am less despondent.

WTF0ver · 20/10/2019 01:00

Wow, amazing!

My leaver dad said the marchers were "pathetic". It's been one of those nights.

But this remainer was proud and emotional to see so many people standing up for our rights!!! Well done!

borntobequiet · 20/10/2019 06:02

It was evident from the get go that it was huge. The tube was full of people with badges and placards beforehand, many more than previously. We stood for over two hours before shuffling off, didn’t turn into Park Lane until 2:30. At that point I texted my cousin that I thought 2.5 million - she was already in Parliament Square having joined at the front early on. I left at Piccadilly when it slowed down - underground there was shut due to congestion, had to walk to Oxford Circus - streets were full of berets and badges - Paddington was heaving with people like me getting trains so as to arrive home at a reasonable time. My train had a huge contingent as I could see as they got off at stations big and small. It was heartening to see them heading off into the dusk at the little rural stations along the line, as though the whole country had turned out to show its defiance to this heartless, duplicitous, mendacious shitshower now running the show.
I feel better for that little rant!

lonelyplanetmum · 20/10/2019 06:12

Interesting you think that Born as you've been to most if not all and have a good feel for it. I was hoping to bump into you again (which was ridiculous given the numbers).
We didn't travel back until 7 pm and the tube was still full of supporters then.

Hoping some one will now extrapolate the numbers based on the Letwin vote. I'm thinking Johnson's agreement will go through- but with what amendments if any? Hopefully someone can propose and win an amendment putting the commitment on individual workers' and consumers' rights back into the binding part. Then part of the ERG machinations will have been for nowt.

borntobequiet · 20/10/2019 07:12

Ah lonely I kept an eye out for you too even though I knew it was so unlikely! Was with son again but various other family members were around and in touch even though we didn’t physically meet!

Peregrina · 20/10/2019 07:39

They CHOSE to put a child into a hostile environment

The only hostility was those silly idiots outside the Half Moon - who numbered what, 20? I also saw Leasdom whinging about facing hostility and I thought, "not from our people".

They CHOSE to waste police resources escorting them

Fully agree here, except Rees-Mogg's children will be able to form their own opinions. Although they will probably get their opinions knocked out of them by Eton.

We caught our coach outside Victoria at 6:45 and that too was mainly supporters.

PulpPixie · 20/10/2019 08:03

Getting sick of the abuse hurled at Rees Mogg being justified because he’s ‘posh’. You should be ashamed. Disgraceful behaviour and it would be be tolerated the other way round.

borntobequiet · 20/10/2019 08:04

*Do not go gentle into that good night
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Saw a modified poster of Dylan Thomas's poem on the March - it was one of several emotional moments.
