A row over parliamentary language and conduct and how MPs are afraid of extremists has over shadowed talk of Brexit.

Cummings has said if you don't want to leave without a deal, vote for a deal.

Yet there isn't a Johnson approved one in front of the Commons and the EU are utterly despairing of Johnson's blank non papers and his full on Trump bullshit.

Then there's the threats to the rule of law.

Apparently there are five known suggestions to bypass the Benn Act and refuse to ask for an extension.
See Twitter Thread Here

This weekend sees the start of the Tory Party Conference. With a parliamentary vote to block a recess, its rather scuppered plans for the rest of the conference. Johnson's planned speech at the conference clashes with PMQ so he may well not attend the Commons.

Expect the conference to be.... Er... Inflammatory...

Robert Peston@peston
I would love to know which officials thought that Benn, Letwin and Grieve actually needed overseas EU help to draft a bill as simple as Benn’s bill that seeks to delay Brexit. Have standards in Whitehall fallen so low?

Haven't got a copy of Sunday Times yet but have got lead story.

One thought that has just occurred to me: with the incitements to violence, when it all goes tits up and it does actually happen, how will papers like the Mail cover the story?

Will they be Brexit heroes fighting for democracy against the tyranny of a Remain Parliament, or will they be disgusting thugs? Bearing in mind that they will mostly be white, I suspect it might be the first.

40 new hospitals would be nice...

... Who is going to staff them?

... And there is a nice new building in the centre of Liverpool which should be a shiny new hospital but thanks to Carillion its still not finished, has had a major structural issue (due to problems resulting from Carillion if memory serves) and if government had stepped up it would have been one hospital that would actually be in action now rather than these 40 imaginery empty new hospitals.

And the view from Manchester

Jennifer Williams @jenwilliamsMEN
We’ve had a lot of promises in Manchester and the north generally. Some have been delivered, but many haven’t - and often those that have, have been simultaneously undermined by other policies. More on this tomorrow

Trust is at an all time low, so if we’re sceptical about the latest northern (electoral) promises, it should come as no surprise. Or, as some might say, cynical.

But that’s not my word :)

For now, im going to eat a chicken kiev, drink a beer and wonder whether it’s that time of year again where having no functioning bathroom light becomes almost intolerable. The political madness resumes tomorrow, amid a downpour.

Nothing says Manchester like a journalist who talks about chicken kievs and beer.

She then retweeted this, which is just about the total opposite.

Mike Smith @mikeysmith
First overheard conversation at Tory Conference: a young-ish Tory activist asking to see the manager in the bar at the Midland. Apparently all the wines they serve are rubbish, and he’s demanding they bring a bottle of a different vintage down from the restaurant.

Doubt there will be too many protests tomorrow thanks to the weather.

Manchester is definitely delivering on its wet reputation this weekend.

Here's the Sunday Times.

Hands up who is surprised by the revelation of an alleged affair with Arcuri?

Anyone?

The Sunday Times @thesundaytimes
As well as revealing more about Boris Johnson's relationship with Jennifer Arcuri, The Sunday Times unveils new columnist Charlotte Edwardes, who recalls a "wandering hands" moment with the embattled PM when she was a young reporter and he was The Spectator's editor.

Gosh really?

He's being smeared by all these young women bullying him isn't he?

Poor bloke.

Carrie must be appalled at how they could be attacking such a gentleman.

And just to put some context to the 'French collusion story...

... Here's what the Sunday Times is also reporting
www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/british-soldiers-prepare-for-action-in-calais-lorry-parks-60rq0dmnm?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1569691262
British soldiers prepare for action in Calais lorry parks

British soldiers could be sent to Calais to marshal lorries if the UK crashes out of the EU on October 31, under plans being drawn up by the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

About 50 personnel may be deployed to the French port to check paperwork and process lorries heading for ferries and the tunnel, according to senior military sources.

The scheme is being looked at as part of Operation Redfold, the MoD’s version of Yellowhammer.

Separately, the government is said to be preparing for disorder at home in two scenarios: if the UK leaves without a deal or possible street protests if it does not leave at all.

sigh

Obviously the French are the enemy. What with us planning to put our troops on French soil.

As for unrest, yes obviously the government is working hard to moderate tensions and calm tensions, rather than acting in a way to full on provoke 'the need' to invoke to Civil Contingencies Act.

Obviously.

BJ might have had an affair with Arcuri

And it other breaking news the Vatican have revealed that the Pope is Catholic but they weren’t sure about the toilet habits of bears.

RedToothBrush · 29/09/2019 01:14

Excuse my sarcasm but this is all so tediously predictable.

This is how countries start if they do want either a full on authoritarian crack down.

And if they fuck that up they have a habit of ending up in full on civil war.

But meh.

What the fuck do I know?

Let's ignore the improper conduct of Boris Johnson and how he can't keep his dick in his pants or his hands to himself.

I mean, unless he's going to deny he's had shedloads of affairs whilst hand in hand with Dear Carrie.

I suppose it'd be the natural step after 'there are no journalists here at the hospital'.

I'm tired of this bullshit.

OP posts:
ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 29/09/2019 01:16

I have a growing feeling that there is a drip feed against BJ building up. Someone in the background is starting to brief against him.

tobee · 29/09/2019 01:17

Lol!

So Boris has given up the booze? Looking at recent photos looks like he's given up the diet as well.

RedToothBrush · 29/09/2019 01:20

Cos of course

Reporting someone to the police for handing out taxpayer funds improperly is 'a political act' and not reporting someone for breaking the fucking law.

Meanwhile talking to the French is treasonous, whilst we cooperate with them about putting our troops on French soil. And the best legal minds in parliament are incapable of drafting a bill all by themselves, even though they have managed to out manoeuvre Johnson previously.

Anyone would think the MoS story was a dead cat, which journalists are flocking to comment on (and therefore give credibility to) like flies on shit.

Ficus on the Arcuri story you fucking idiots. Rather than this both siderism bullshit.

You know like find the crime like detective bloody pikachu.

OP posts:
tobee · 29/09/2019 01:24

But won't the drip feed against him just contribute to the poor, martyred Boris idea? Daily Express's our great wronged saviour delivering Brexit in jail? Will the briefing against backfire? Or will people have had enough? They haven't managed to get rid of Trump and he's been around for nearly 3 years.

They've probably had that about remainers with eu "foreign collusion" in their back pocket for a while. Darvo anyone?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 29/09/2019 01:25

Isn’t Jonathan Harmsworth, Viscount Rothermere (owner of the Daily Mail) a nondom living in France.

Maybe he can look into it

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 29/09/2019 01:27

I think it is BJ’s own side who are getting ready to throw him under a bus if he gets too toxic.

If Brexit upsets too many people he will be sacrificed

RedToothBrush · 29/09/2019 01:29

Of course the Express preempting everything by even suggesting the Johnson might win an election from jail is quite something.

Is it an admission that there is a way he might end up in jail?

OP posts:
ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 29/09/2019 01:32

tobee · 29/09/2019 01:38

It would be amazing by all definitions Smile

7Days · 29/09/2019 01:41

What a load of distracting nonsense.

Ok Johnson may have funnelled a few thousand the wrong way. It would take down a normal PM, in normal times. But look at how its framed. It's all about the busty ex pole dancer. This only bigs him up in a lot of peoples eyes.

Party political broadcast. Go on Boris, the alpha Male. Men want to be him women want to .... narrative.
As opposed to the puppet PM, Johnson, whose own siblings warn against his weakness in the face of ultra billionaires with their own agendas
